Low on the list? Korpi is low on the list, as the senators worst all time goalie for his salary. Who is worse than him, that makes even close to the cap hit? Korpi is an absolute anchor who deserves to be bought out and never be the #1 goalie again as he is awful. Is he the active worst goalie contract? Tell me who is worse?

Talking about D with no NHL ability while defending the worst starting goalie in the league. A solid team won’t stop Korpi from being on the misplay of the day every second game.
Jack Campbell signed a 5 year / $25,000,000 contract with the Edmonton Oilers, including $25,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $5,000,000.
This contract is worse than Korpi's.

This is all part of the new regime, you muck the stalls. This is one big piece of shit that will cost you 1.3 a year to banish, but it must be done

It shouldn't even be a discussion!

Yes, the team D needs to improve but the goaltending has been abysmally bad. Anyone who has played in front of brutal goaltending knows how hard it is and how your game changes in a bad way. It's human nature.

Until we get average NHL goaltending this team is near impossible to read.
You're absolutely correct, the players know that every little mistakes they make will end up in the back of the net, so of course they all try to over do it, and then you have a bunch a guys out of position because they have no confidence in the goaltender.

He was our best player a couple games ago. When he’s on he can be really good. It’s a consistency issue. Figure out why he has those breakdowns during the games and try and iron those out.
He’d be excellent if it wasn’t for those one or two stinkers most games.
Not saying that’s an easy fix or even possible but give it a shot anyway. I’ll give him the year to figure it out.
Maybe it’s an off-season fix.

He’s going to be 30 years old in 6 weeks. He doesn’t have the fundamentals to be good, he’s shown us nothing here besides poor goaltending

Someone brought it up before and I agree with them that he is just not a positonally sound goaltender. He makes some really acrobatic saves and it looks flashy and cool but perhaps it's a by product of him always being out of position.

I find that in-close and shots through a crowd, he's positionally sound. It's his angles for shots from a distance, and his hand-eye.

Some of these stinkers need a goalie to be bad at two things at once.

You just don't make it to the NHL with those defecits. So I hope these are problems he developed recently, which I think means he could correct them. He should spend some of the all-star break with the new goalie coach.

Dude needs to be bought out this summer. Can't have his $4M on the cap for the next 5 years if the team is looking to compete.

Dude makes high danger saves but buckles with random low danger shots.

He was playing much better when the team defense was a hot mess in front of him... now that we're making the life much easier for goalies, he's falling apart

Anton Forsberg would be running away with the ball if he was healthy right now... Seems at least another 2 weeks for Anton... so after the long all-star break maybe (Sens don't play for like 10 days)

After the 2rd goal you could feel the team has no faith in him, i can't blame them i 'm the same. He could be stellar one minute and the next one be awful. No consistency during 3 periods.

If the players lost faith in Korpisalo after the second goal, then they should have played much better defensively than they did.
Yes, I'm hoping that the team doesn't deflate after every bad goal or every bit of adversity they face. It doesn't bode well for us if the players are that fragile.

A buy-out sounds easy enough, but we've been down that road before. It would be alright as long as there isn't more buy-outs or detained salary in the future. i.e., next 8 years. These things can have a compounded effect.

I prefer buying out Forsberg and finding a 1A goalie to split starts with Korpisalo.

The thing with Korpisalo is that he is insanely inconsistent season-by-season. He'll destroy a team's chances at the playoffs one year by being completely incapable of making routine saves, and then the next year he'll be above average.

I'd hope for a bounce back year and then try to pawn him off on some team desperate enough for a goalie that they'd take him on.

When your team has been poor defensively and your goalies are worse

Korpisalo sucks & Forsberg's not that much better. Sogaard is still young & struggling at times & I'm not sure he is even ready for the backup role yet. They will need to go out & find a #1 goalie, Nashville has one coming into town today, I wonder if they could do some kind of swap for Saros. Korpisalo, Brannstrom & Boston cond. 1st?
