We didn’t need upside, we needed results Korpisalo isn’t a starter never has been if we are being honest.

Varlamov was the obvious choice had better year is the better overall goalie as well and would’ve cost way less even if you had to overpay to get him away from the NYI.

If this is tbe Korpisalo we’re getting, tell me how it’s a good signing, especially with how our cap situation turned out.

Korpi is Lalime v2.0. People liked Lalime or people hated Lalime. There is no in between. Starts work on Korpi beachball meme...

It's not the past five games I'm worried about, it's the next 405 games that we have signed Korpisalo to play.

This is playing out as I thought it would.

I don’t think anyone is going to like korpisalo

People forgot Mike Condon's contract too

Did you make this post after looking at my avatar?

We lost so many trade trees under Dorion, it's actually incredible that we have any kind of future. Think of Zibanejad/Brassard, Turris/Duchene, Stone, 7th OA/DeBrincat and what we have left for all that... JBD, Thomson, Brannstrom and a conditional first.

I don't want to be right, I don't want to be right, I...

Didn’t like the contract at the time and don’t like it now

Played 3 stunk in 2. He's not very technically sound. Doesn't have very good hockey sense. A very poor pro evaluation by management to give a backup/2a goalie that much term. Par for the course with Dorions ability to evaluate netminders. Leaky momentum changing goals are going to go in on him. He has raw talent but he will never be consistent enough with his skillset to live up to that contract.

Buyout candidate in a year or two. Another gem of a goalie signing.

The frustrating thing about acquisitions like this is that it’s just so obvious. He never had a good year before last season and we felt like that deserved 5 year term. Player agents must love Dorion.

Oh joy, people moaning in here too. Korpi has looked solid, and then exceptional in two games.

So much better than what we have been used to last couple of years.

Do you think youre smart? He's had 2 stinkers out of 5 games. I stand by what I said. Talented goalie that isn't technically sound. You aren't capable of evaluating objectively.

What were the two exceptional games? Penguins for sure

And you left out he looked very bad in those other games

Why did you leave out the Caroline game where he sunk us.

I mean the buffalo game lol k let’s remove that.

Penguins and islanders good.

Ice tray was correct.

2 bad games. 2 good. Tampa was outright dominance by us. So his form reflects our record essentially. Not quite good enough

While Chabot and Brannstrom are injured, 2 D-men who excel at transition, we might end up being dominated and give up more chances than usual (like in the Pittsburgh game) so we'll need Korpisalo and Forsberg to be at their best if we don't want to dig ourselves into a hole (again). November is crucial.

Oh yeah, true, being worried about legit concerns is not permitted on this board. It's not like if any contract or trade didn't blow up in our face before...

And Forsberg had a near Vezina caliber season in 2021-22, still finished with the 7th OA pick, to the Blackhawks benefit and their fans are very grateful for it.

I just went to his player page on NHL.com and took a screenshot.

If you didn't count the Tampa game because it was a domination by us, then surely you shouldn't count the Carolina game because it was a domination by them?

I give real breakdowns the good and the bad. You ignore bad play then pop up when a player plays well. I will call it like I see it.

You count every game. Good NHL goalies dont have 2 bad games out of 5. I said he stole the game against Pitt. He let a horrible back breaking goal in against Carolina. The most important aspect a goalie can provide is consistency. When the players know they can trust him they can play their game worry free. I hope and pray he can be consistent, if he can then the sens are in good shape. While Forsberg has a small sample size he has less stinkers this year. I just want one of them to grab the job.

Lol was it? We tied the game 3-3 and he let in two atrocious goals immediately after

Another solid game for Korpi tonight.
Yeah very good. Looks like he needs to put on about 10lbs of muscle though to get a bit stronger. He just looks a little flimsy in there to me. Makes me a bit nervous.

Yeah Korpi needed some help dealing with the forward standing over him. Can’t say I’m impressed with our young D at the moment, Sandy obviously excluded.

JBD is overwhelmed at times...we need Zub back asap..a little concerned he's still out after 8 games with that injury
Concussed I imagine…. So lame. I have to agree that this was not a good showing by JBD. I was less than enthused to see that it was him carrying the puck up the ice for one of our last rushes.

Too slow to move and skate, and he does shy away from contact. Not sure what he does.
