Not a horrible effort. Erie is a much older team. We are going to lose against those types of teams 75% of the time this year.

Stark - I don’t want to see on D. He had a solid game.

Cameron - Love the intensity. Will be a pain to play against when he is 18/19.

Arquette - Good game

Belicki - he will be our best 2008 play mem cup year…not a doubt in my mind.

OAs - we had only Parsons after the 1st.

Is Macneil sick as well? He wasn't out for the introductions either.

Love that Stark was originally listed as a defenceman, played forward and both special teams. Was arguably their best forward tonight.

Third goal was a turnover by Schneider, possibly on a miscommunication with Cameron. That stuff happens with young players.

I think Romano and Lam are learning that offense is more difficult when the defence is keying on you. They will get better because of the extra attention.

Man, is Reid ever a smooth skater.

Pugliese, Misaljevic , and Labrash were under the weather.
Under the weather?
A flu bug ripped through half the team! Hopefully the worst is behind them. All things considered, it wasnt too disappointing. However some very selfish penalties in the offensive zone cost us 2 goals. Power play is still hindering us as we couldn't score on a major penalty? And gave up a shorty?
I don't think Erie was quite themselves either. Did anyone notice Schaefer?

FLU BUG will affect the Rangers all weekend. Explains lack luster first period but I have to say that the boys picked up in the 2nd and kept it up in the 3rd where they scored two goals (Arquette launched a cruise missile). It it wasn't for Weston Cameron's penalty shortly after, they might have staged a comeback BUT wasn't meant to be.

I have to point out that the 3rd goal against Kitchener was a total fluke. The puck somehow got in behind Parsons and did not cross the line. Parsons backed into his net as he searched for where it was. Of course, his skate pushed it in. Eugh.

I thought Vermeulen fit in nicely and considering his lack of time with the team. He stepped up immediately when Henry landed a head check (only 2 minutes for this....really?) but Henry wouldn't engage and retreated towards his bench. Not to worry, later in the game, Ando laid a big time legal check on Henry and knocked his to the ice. Message sent.

Actually, there were quite a few nice hits handed out during the game - something I haven't seen for quite a while. One thing is for sure. This young Rangers team will not be bullied.

Speaking of bullies, did you hear about London paying $500 to get Ryder Boulton back early only to get demolished by Flint 7 to 4. Karma.

In the post game interview, Jussi was not pleased and held them accountable despite the flu. I like his no excuses mentality.

1. $500 to London 🤣🤣🤣
2. This is a continuation of exhibition. A lot of players are still in pro camps
3. Even in a season where we aren't competing for the same turf as London they are rent free in our heads

First game. A little early for the "best" 2008 to support an M Cup rant don't you think? A couple 08s haven't even played a real game yet.

I don’t know how much fault you can have in the goalies when they are getting zero support. It seems every goal against is an odd man rush or a break away. Or getting out muscled and out competed for the puck. Hopefully these early games will be good learning experiences regardless of the results and improvement occurs as we move along.

Don’t fault the goalers, but I do fault the mgt. team. Should not have a 16 year old kid backing up with a team that is kind of soft defensively. This could shake whatever confidence Schaubel had in his ability to compete in this league.
Guess we find out how great a coach we have in how this team prepare for and reacts next weekend.
Go Rangers!

Going to be a long year. And as Brown reported, there will be trades. That means Andonovski I figure.

Should try and pick up an 05 D or two on the very cheap after Andonovski is moved to provide a cushion for the young D. Castoffs from an all in team.

Fixter just showed why he was such a failure as a coach. He was saying during the game you just burned the film of games like that. He asked Jussi in the post game. Jussi said you can't burn the film - you have to learn. Fixter even stood by the tape burning after the interview 😁. I do like his commentary for the most part though.

I think they will get better. It's going to take a while to sort things out and find leaders. The team defensive coverage has been horrible both games. Last night could have been a similar result.

I agree that you can't pin a game like that on the goaltending, but the Rangers need more than 6 saves on 11 shots from Parsons.

Stark and Bilecki each -6. A bunch of those likely came at the end when everyone else was kicked out, but they need to figure that out fairly quickly. A healthy Macneil would help.

Get healthy and get the effort level up where it should be, and then see what the team looks like.

There is no stupider (is that a word?lol) comment after getting blown out than “burn the tape” or “burn the game sheet”. Spott used to say it as well.

I agree with Jussi. It’s about time someone stated the obvious. There’s a lot to learn from every game tape, even the blowouts. Might be an idea to learn why you were blown out and to not let it happen again.

I don't need to add anymore comments on the game - plenty here. I will say that the Spits did really draft well this past spring - Belchetz, Lemieux, Garden and Hicks. I know they were able to pick early, but these 08's could make their team a real force in the coming years. It's early, but I can see why I had figured in my mind that this Windsor team would be much better than a lot had projected.

I’m thinking you can attribute half the Windsor onslaught to the team dealing with the flu running through the room. When you have multiple players hitting the head every intermission the last couple games, that’s not nuthin.

I’m not saying we win the game last night otherwise. We have the youngest D in the league and flu or no flu, you won’t win many games.

Again, it’ll be a long season. MM has sent the message. The trading of Rehkopf and the amount of youth on this roster means that this season won’t be about wins but about development.

Did not watch past the mid second period. Just checked out the scoresheet. I hope Ando had some reason to instigate against their 16 year old first rounder. What was up with that?
