L
2 months in and I’m already tired of watching Owen sound. Wish they’d change it to 3 games against the eastern conference teams.
I know what you mean. There's usually about 15 home games a season I really don't care about.

Good post ES. It is such a tough choice and there are, of course, no guarantees. I mean we would definitely improve our team and maybe we become cup competitive this year, but the most exciting thing this year IMO would be to have this coaching staff help select and develop a championship team for 26/27.

Man, I just don't see how u guys sell off. Walk into London on Sunday, control play & win & now walk into Owen Sound & are dominating. Best goal differential in the league by a country mile.

Best line in the league. Arguably two top 10 players in Rehkopf/Mesar. Top 5 Dcore. Goaltending been rock solid. Great rookie class.

Not like LDN has a ton of assets to add. OS GM doesn't believe in going all in (so he says), SSM has a bit to trade but not a crazy amount & no way they trade Martin (there 1st RDer). Potrias not coming back to GUE. SAG obviously gonna add a lot but still rely heavily on Misa, Parekh who are 16&17.

Is the team that far off if McKenzie can somehow get a decent 2nd liner to play W/Martin, Mesar & get a solid 3rd liner & then just have a kid line with 3 really solid rookies as the 4th.

I think Martin will be the odd man out. No way Sop gets traded. I think you keep both Motew and Schmidt. You can never have enough quality dmen.

I think they're ready to go on a ripper. I don't see what team is better right now.

I agree. Martin and Schmidt will get the highest return and if Ellinas makes a step while he injured, MM has his answer

I’m not sure. Can we afford to move the offence and playoff grit that Martin brings? That’s if MM goes into contend mode.

And looking at the return that the Petes got for Lockhart, the OA market may go against us getting value.

Maybe it's me but just noticing the great rebound control by Parsons.
I don't think there was 1 loose rebound.
Parsons has been money in the bank this year!

Owen sound might have to pull a Kitchener and be Buyers from the bottom half of the standings.

Every game that passes the harder it is for MM to consider a sell off.

The D core is pretty much the exact same last year (Moore replaced by Reid and Campbell). The 5 returning D are a year older and performing much better than last years team. We obviously have to lose 1 OA which is going to hurt. Motew is highly underrated. Coaching is clearly helping this group. Let’s call it even D core compared to last year.

Parsons is legit. I 100% fine riding him as a starter. I’m more comfortable with him then Costantini as a starter. We are better this year imo.

The F depth is the concern. We lost Pinelli, Arcuri, Zhilkin and Valade. Let’s say Misaljevic replaces Valade (let’s call it a wash). We are still missing a big 3 replaced by Ellinas and 3 kids (Stark, Lam and Romano). Ellinas is a solid 17 year old and a big surprise trade that is looking like a big trade win. He is no Arcuri, Pinelli or Zhilkin though. The top end talent is fine. It’s that 3rd line filled with young players and older not great players that is the concern of this team. Coaching again is bringing up the F to a level that is to be honest…shocking. I can’t call even compared to last year but every game that passes it’s getting closer to being even WITHOUT the talent level we had last year. We are behind compared to last year.

Coaching - we aren’t as good as last year. I’m kidding. This is bringing up the D and F to a point that MM has no idea what to do.

The scary….depth on F and D. Once an OA D is traded we will be riding the top 4 D hard in playoffs. We will be riding the top 6 F hard in the playoffs. If we have 2 or 3 in that top 4D and top 6F injured we are screwed if we decide to go for it and not sell off. We don’t have the cupboard (unless a 16 year old) to really add a top 4 D or legit F that is more than a 3rds liner. It’s going to be really interesting to see what MM does. Maybe another player falls in our lap from AHL or NCAA guy which would really be welcomed with our draft cupboard. It will be interesting to see the next trade (besides the extra OA) to see what is going to happen. If it’s a 19 year old depth player we are going for it. If it’s a Hunter or big name going out clearly it’s a sell off. Like I started this off though…every day that goes by it’s getting harder to see any type of sell.

Always tough to get good value when you are trading your fourth overager. Will Martin even be back before the trade deadline? I don't think teams would be willing to give up too much for him unless he comes back early and lights it up.

Poitras will be back after Christmas. Joining Allen, real candidate to win the conference

He wont be back. His fancy stats are through the roof. He's producing at a solid pace. He's moved between 2C and 3C and the Bruins are winning. He's gone.

Anyways

Jackson Parsons is a stud. I hope he's the one we keep next season as an OA.

Mesar continues to produce

Schmidt on the 3rd pairing was not bad. No pressure. Likely allows him to settle in and play his game instead of being forced into a top pairing role that he clearly can't handle. I liked him with Campbell. It gives you 3 solid D pairings you can ice anytime.

Rehkopf looked awesome again. Best shot in the league

Swick is really impressing this year.

A++++++.

I have loved the the Reid/Motew pairing. Do you stick with that and go with Hamara and Schwindt or pair Hamara with Motew

Another bad week and Attack could be the first to hold a fire sale.

They are nowhere near advertised, and would have to move players to bring in players.
