Reid came back last night and picked up where he left off. Star talent. Jussi says Reid is the top D in his age group in the world. That's saying something from the normally reserved Jussi.

First period....the Rangers showed up. Haven't seen that energy and commitment for a while now. Rehkopf set the pace with the first goal of the game. Two of their goals came from going to the net, pouncing on the puck, and capitalizing on mistakes. More please.

2nd period goes to Missy. Rangers must have thought they didn't have to play when up 4-1 and chasing top Missy goalie Leeaders from the game. Just the same, 5-4 Rangers end of the 2nd. But the 3rd period saw both teams battling for the win. Lots of good look and chances for the Rangers who outshot Missy in that period. OT....what can you say?...SOP!!!

Rangers MUST play a full 60 on Sunday afternoon against Sudbury.

Young Reid looks like a vet already. Can't imagine how talented the kid will be in a year or two. Even the vets praise this player and how poised he is for a rookie defenseman. Rangers looked great in the first and gave us a view of what they were in the first third of the season. In the 2nd period 5'10" Angus Macdonell took Missy on his back and took over the game. He not only scored but showed the abrasiveness he is known for in scrums. He ended up with a hattrick and almost ended the game in OT. Missy rebuilt a couple of years ago and picked up some young skilled players. Sop who should be captain scored his 5th OT goal. Without his contributions these games could have easily been losses. The Soo brought the Knights back down to earth last night. Anyone that bought those Mem Cup tickets early might be selling them at a discount because nothing in junior hockey is guaranteed.

True Blue , Rangers need to do a better job defending and get more solid goaltending also to beat Sudbury. Sudbury played a real sandpaper game against the Rangers last time. They did a lot of bumping and other annoying things in scrums and after whistles. Rangers need to play a full 60 or it will be a loss.

Really thought Sop with him heroics would get number one star, not sure how Carson got number two, but I don't have a problem with MacDonell at one. As usual, London in a thumping gives their player a star and number 2 at that. Some towns they're meaningful, some towns they're not.

McCue was absolutely deserving of a star last night. He gave his team the early lead, primary assist on their other marker, and looked dangerous most of the night. Plus he was a wrecking ball out there laying out multiple players with huge hits including completely destroying Karki.

What, precisely, are you taking issue with on the McCue 2nd star?

Reid's skating is better than I remembered. Noticed him jump up A LOT that game. Going to be fun to watch him develop. As disapointing as the team can be, this is a fun year to watch specific players. Feels like a long time since we had guys producing like Rehk and Brz.

After that merciful beating the Knights were seeing stars. I don't think they had a McCue what happened to them. Soo looked fast , dominant and dangerous looking at the replays on the OHL site. Not many fans worry about the stars picked on most nights. They are too busy trying to get out of parking lots after games.

You get thumped 8 2 you don't deserve a star, period, much less 1st or 2nd. In no world does it make sense. 10 of 10 times regardless of who wins in Kitchener I can guarantee the team on the winning side sweeps all 3. Looking at a stat line, if anyone from London should get the 3rd star it should be Wooley, who managed to be +1 in that blowout.

Same thing the Knight fans saw when Petizian scored and skated across the ice on one knee. It was breath takingly merciful. Memories.
Nice you have ONE recent memory of beating the Knights in a playoff series. I can't be bothered to look up how many times the reverse has happened in recent years bobber...it was almost becoming an annual event.😎
Maybe meet again in the 2nd round if both teams finish where they are.

Better sit down before you read this next sentence then. I thought both London goalies played well.

Sometimes hockey doesn't make sense. Especially if you are just skimming a box score.

Slowpace I was just trying to get a rise out of you. If the Rangers get past the first round this year it will be an accomplishment IMO. I did praise the Knight earlier in a post and we all know how good they are if they stick to hockey. You have to learn to take a ribbing if you come on another teams forum. :)

I guess the NHL scouts saw something in Florian that the Ranger scouts ignored.
I'll put it another way. It was Florian's choice where to sign as he was a FA and he saw the writing on the wall that he wasn't going to get much opportunity in Kitchener because of the powerhouse 8th place team that was being assembled and chose Hamilton.

It will be painful for the Rangers and I think all realistic Rangers fans acknowledge this 😥
