There seems to be a lot of east to west passes which when teams are playing the trap is not really a recipe for success. I would
Like to see the Rangers try some stretch passes to open teams up and also help vacate our defensive zone quicker along with giving teams less time to set up the trap and also. More physicality would be nice to see as well. When the young guy started hitting in the third period last night it not only got the team energized but also the fans. Good clean hard hitting hockey is something that this team needs to start doing. I also agree with other people in that the Rangers need to start getting pucks to the net and getting the greasy goals in and around the blue paint. Come playoffs this is how a lot of goals are scored and right now the Rangers are kinda easy to play against if you keep them to the outside. Not every goal needs to be a highlight reel goal as they all count the same regardless of how they go in.

Earlier in the season, teams were allowing us time to set up and break out uncontested. With all the success we had, teams were bound to make adjustments. Now it’s up to the coaches to readjust.

Currently we seem to spend way too much time in our own end trying to set up the perfect breakout (including PP). Most NHL teams use the stretch pass effectively to counter the aggressive forecheck.

Go Rangers
I think Jussi and his staff have work to do for sure if they hope to have any success in the playoffs. In this league a coach has to be able to make adjustments on the fly. Jussi is getting educated just as the players are when they first come into the league. Smaller ice and different systems. Although I think it was Killer in Ottawa that said " There are only so many ways to bring a f-ing puck out of your end" in reference to whether Deboer would succeed in the NHL. Jussi may put his stamp on the Rangers yet.

I did not look at the photo carefully and just saw the navy blue, and I assumed wrong. Thank you for the correction.
Weren't last night's jerseys black? I know I have trouble telling black and navy blue apart sometimes.

Watching on CHL TV. Not sure who got on the bus last night, but these guys are bad. Slow, disorganized and disinterested. So now it’s time to find a good Saturday night movie. :( .

.500 hockey since December 1st.

Right now, had we been playing .500 hockey all year, we’d be at 8th place in the conference.

Familiar spot

Could have set themselves up likes the Petes. They’re essentially relying on a overpayment for Rehkopf and Andonvski for 2027
Second round exit in the cards? We could have accomplished that with a light sell.

Agreed. Getting through 2 of Sag, soo, London was always going to be a tall task. I find it interesting how after the trade McKenzie used the words “help the team win more games” not anything related to the playoffs.

Many of us have said there's something wrong with the culture of this organization. I was hopeful it had changed with the new coach and the quick start to the season. But here we are approaching the playoffs and it's the same old song and dance. The rest of the league moves forward as the season goes on and Kitchener is sliding down the greasy rope yet again.

Left the game last night to watch Shoresy. Not enough of these boys “hate to lose” more than they love to win. Maybe that is what the Hunters look for in their prospects, and why we don’t match up well with their teams.

I'm basing my analyses of the rest of the season on one of the worst game they played all year.

Most of you were on the buy train because we were so high in the standings. I was ok with what we did but wanted a soft sell all year long. Some wanted to add even more, despite having next to no assets and little idea of who we could actually get who would really make us better and not just give us more of this...had we done that I suspect we'd be fairing not much better and we'd be down one of our 1st round kids.
I guess it's just funny for me seeing the 180 here after 1 particularly dog shit game (on the heels of a big comeback win) has everyone afraid the sky is falling.
