Before the injury, Martin was at a 40 goal pace. No reason to believe he wouldn’t continue on that pace upon his return. And we all know his performance last post season.Hence why getting a good 19 yr old dman and trade either Schmidt or Motew and have Martin in the lineup in one of the top 3 lines.
IMHO, this would be the most asset economic thing to do. Martin fulfills so much of the teams needs.
Pugliese has been bringing it as of late, and he seems to thoroughly enjoy the role. If anything, I can see him amping it up even more. Great guy to have out there vs a team’s scoring line. And he can skate well enough to keep up in that role.
Swick uses his size in a big way on the top line. Great shot and can score as well. On a 25 to 30 goal, PPG pace. If he can revisit the aggressive side he showed in the pre season, we’ll have an adequate amount of that element going forward.
