I said a guy who works for Rogers Oshawa tweeted Dal Colle to Kitchener talks are underway, and then in the same hour Nicholson tweeted that it sounds like the trade winds are circling the Gens again

Mayday how has Del Colle played this year in your estimation? We never see much of the Gennies in the west. I realize the team is not the same caliber as last season.

Dal Colle! Not Del Colle haha. And I'd say he's under performed when considering he's a top 5 NHL pick, but I'd also say it was expected considering who left this team and who's been on his line (Domenic Commisso and Lukas Lofquist for the majority of the year, not exactly household names). But he's going to finish in the Generals top 15 in lifetime goals, top 7 in lifetime assists and top 10 in lifetime points. Pretty impressive when you consider who's played for the Gens (Tavares, Bobby Orr, Eric Lindros, etc). He's been a great player for the Gens and is definitely one of the "big game players" in the OHL. He was named one of the forwards of the tournament in the Memorial Cup last year. You'll get to see what he can really do at the World Juniors, he could very well end up on that top line with Marner like they had at the Super Series

Thanks Mayday. Just a point. Boyde tweeted the rumour who ever he is. He mentioned Roberts going back. Someone replied Roberts cannot be traded this year. There could be talks but I think it's more likely involving all the top squads. Roberts will be a better asset than Del Colle in one year IMO. Guess we have to wait and see what comes out in the wash. If the Rangers make another move it could come out of left field like the last one did.

Yep who knows what'll happen.
Roberts can't be traded this year but trades happen all the time where it's made now but a secondary conditional trade is made the year after (look at Gens getting Moore from Windsor which was used to get Mistele at the deadline last year and them Latour going to Windsor for basically nothing this year. Those 2 trades were definitely made at the same time)
Again it's DAL Colle not Del Colle

Rangers never cheat. I think you have them mixed up with a couple of other western squads:handclap: Peter the Cheater was a myth.

If Del Colle is the big fish and four or five teams are looking at him maybe the Rangers should look elsewhere. Sometimes teams give up to much for players that just never make the big impact they thought they were going for. If it turns out Barrie is really in a fire sale there could be someone less costly that would fit in. I think the Rangers have 6 seconds in the next four years still. I would like to see Murray pull a rabbit out of a hat instead of giving up too much.

Giving up the likes of Bunnaman or Meireles for MDC isn't the direction I'd want to go. Unless the player is back next year, then I don't do the deal. I'd much rather see Konecny as he'd be back next year or a cache of conditional picks back from Ottawa if the Flyers keep him.

ORYX, I'll defer to you on Amadio. I don't see the east much so if he is more of what we already have then fine. Perhaps we go in a different direction. I still think we need a clutch face off man.

Lemieux is a good player, but after the display he put on at the end of the game in Kitchener over absolutely nothing, I'm not interested. Actually, I'd like to see him in the line up of a team we're playing in the playoffs. He's the closest thing to a suspension waiting to happen since Zac Rinaldo.

I think a lot of people are overvaluing Bunnaman. He's a nice player but it's doubtful he ever gets past 2nd line status. MDC is a WJC player who was a key part in a Memorial Cup champioship run. When you look at the price we got for Bailey and especially Pedersen last year, I'd say it would cost more than Bunnaman. Especially this year when blue chip players don't seem to be as abundant as last year.

It looks like the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree in Lemieux's case. Last season when rangers played up in barrie he got tossed for excessive whining throughout the game. The ref just got sick of his antics. Lots of baggage. Best to look elsewhere.

I prefer the term "being creative within the rules", to cheating :)
The Fandom Code: We're being creative within the rules while all the other teams are a bunch of lying cheats"
Insert at the tailend for Windsor Fans: "and Branch and his officials are out to get us" :)

Del Colle has 21 points and is on the third page in stats. Not playing as well this year. For a rental at a high price I would want someone with more points. Otherwise you should not sell the farm. Kind of a risk IMO.

Del Colle and Konecny are both wingers. If we're dealing for the best/highest profile forward available no matter winger or center, then it may be one of these guys. If it's down to these two, and the prices are comparable, I'm all in for Konecny mainly because he's a year younger. I'm sure Del Colle's numbers will improve once dealt to a contender, but if I'm hurting next year's team by including Bunnaman or Meireles in the deal, I want the guy who'll have junior eligibility next year.

Dal Colle is missing 16 of his teammates from last season. Under the circumstances I think he's doing quite well.

I don't believe we're overvaluing Bunnaman. It's just that he's a big part of this year's team and will be much more important next year. That, and the fact that it's Connor Bunnaman who prospective trade partners start with in any conversation for a high end forward. That according to Josh Brown.

Plus next years team shouldn't have too much of a fall off from this years team.
yeah, MacInnis will be gone and the overagers but the rangers will have a very strong OA group next year plus the addition of Meireles and a few others.
I wouldn't give up next year to have a DalColle for this year.

exactly. Watch his stats go u playing with a guy like Bracco
:D

What if his stats were high as a result of who he played with similar to one of the Hunter boys a few years back? I doubt Del Colle comes here. Read he will only go to London, Erie or Barrie. Saw a tweet today Barrie may sell off. Leaves two teams. Del Colle has not discussed his no trade claus with the powers that be according to an article.

He is over a point per game player in his OHL career (313 points in 253 OHL games) and was named to the all-tournament team of the Memorial Cup last year. Not to mention he's a top 5 pick to the NHL. So if you go by his OHL past, what NHL scouts think of him, or what he did in the biggest games he's ever played in, he's quite the player haha

Haha for some strange reason I don't think that would get it done

It's been said that Oshawa wants someone's 99 first rounder in any
MDC deal.

If I'm Oshawa, from the Rangers I want Meireles, a 2nd and two 3rds. If Meireles isn't on the table, I want Bunnaman, Hall, two 2nds, and two 3rds.

If it were me I save those offers until I see if Konecny is on the market or not. He's my first choice.

I seriously doubt Konecny goes on the market this year.
