:yo:

if it was 1977 and i was 11 again i would love this, but it's 2014 and im 47 and all i can say is 'are you kidding me'?

KISS is the best the NHL can do in LA? simply awful

Never really listened to KISS, but I'm sure they'll put on a good show. If I could afford to go I wouldn't care who played the "halftime" show.

Are you saying that you are not interested in seeing a group of 60+ year old men running around in spandex and make up?

The first thing that came to mind when I heard this was:

"Hey...it could be worse.... A LOT worse."

(aka anything currently on the radio.)

It is fitting that they are having a circus sideshow of a band to play at this sideshow of an event. But really, I hate Kiss and I think this is lame/cheesy but it kinda fits the bill because lets face it, this event is kind of a spectacle in the first place. This will be my only chance to see Kiss so I guess I better enjoy it. At least I'll probably have a good view for that!

I honestly can't think of a band they could have play there that wouldn't be stupid. I guess they could've hired the 5 for Fighting guy to play again or maybe Bad Religion or another LA band that likes hockey.

I feel the same way and have a couple of years on you.

Happy I don't have to see that in person.

Not....no......not goood.

Jesus, we are really talking 1973. In 1977, Casablanca decided it would be a good idea to have each of these guys cut their own record individual, which resulted in a dismal failure and the end of KISS as we know it.

But wait!

Stadium Series, 2054: KISS will be performing again! Why not every 40 years, anyway?

Since this is L.A. we're talking about, wouldn't some N.W.A. be more mood-appropriate? :naughty:

Even MC Ren has been rockin' that Gretzky-era L.A. Kings cap, pre-1993!

At least I've heard of this band.

I didn't like them in junior high, but that's another story from a long time ago...

It was jr high for me too (sort of go Griffins) and those guys went right past me. I liked heavier stuff when I wanted that sort of sound or at least very different.

I saw them during the FAREWELL tour....yeah, that was 14 years ago. I want my money back.

I guess this means everyone is lining up for the remaining 50,000 tickets?

Musically, KISS is one of the most overrated bands of all time. Gene Simmons is a brilliant business man and knew how to sell the band, but good grief their music is boring.

Musically, KISS has NEVER been overrated. In fact, they've never been very rated whatsoever.

Those wondering "This is the best the NHL could do in LA for entertainment??" obviously don't know the NHL's track record with music acts performing at events. Let's just say this isn't the NFL or the NBA: nobody is lining up to play between periods at an NHL event.

I mean, did you see the no-names they had play during the 1st intermission of the NHL's "showcase" event yesterday??? Those are the dudes you have play for a crowd of over 100,000 people?

At least KISS is a rock band and is used to performing to large crowds of people. Come to think of it, they have to be the most well-known band I can recall playing an NHL event...only other one I can think of off the top of my head is The Hives and that is really not saying much.

they are the musical equivalent of pop rocks.

Nah, your being too hard on them...I mean they aren't RUSH or Zeppelin, but they never claimed to be. They always been a decent rock band, it's just that they should have hung them up about 15-20 years ago.

Have you SEEN who the NHL books for their stuff? The NHL can't book musical talent for their events to save their lives.

Kiss sucks, and they're a bunch of Ducks fans.

Should've got SOAD back together to play.

The Five for Fighting guy is a Kings fan but he already played an outdoor game.
The All Star game in Dallas had some band called "Red Jumpsuit Apperatis" my 12 year old niece liked them
