No you're right. All I'm saying is that after a major injury or surgery. A person may for the majority of the time be "pain free". Though there will be times when the pain rears it's ugly head. As of right now, I don't believe the situation is that bad. As long as he's monitored, and allowed a game here or there to rest, if it gets too bad, he should be alright. It's if he follows the path of the players you listed. Then his career may be compromised.usually with pain the condition will erode. The body is sending the pain signals to make the body aware that what it's doing is not good for the body. Masking that pain with pain killers doesn't change the fact that the body is being further damaged by playing through what's causing the pain.
I've seen too many careers end early or be compromised by players playing through pain (Weber, Yao Ming, Grant Hill, etc...)
Playing through chronic pain already at just 21 years old? I hope not.
I wonder what @Karma Police police would have to say about that.My wrists get sore all the time.
Well they are pretty much well rested since we didn't draft Wright. I got a new keyboard thoI wonder what @Karma Police police would have to say about that.
That’s why you’re posting on an NHL fan forum…I've gotten sore wrists from hockey actually. Practicing wristers over and over. Had to wear a wrist compression sleeve for a bit.
Back in the Industrial Revolution when I was a teenager I broke my ankle. For a couple of years it would swell up and hurt when I had to plow the fields with the oxen. It doesn't hurt or swell up any more. Time is a great elixir. Ate the oxen!No you're right. All I'm saying is that after a major injury or surgery. I've heard that happen for a lot of people. After a certain amount of time, the area surrounding the area that was hurt, gets stronger. Slowly taking pressure off of the injured area. Alleviating the pain entirely, or decreasing the pain dramatically.Back in the Industrial Revolution when I was a teenager I broke my ankle. ive played both tennis and squash in heavy schedules - and not once have I ever had a "soreness" in my wrist or shoulders..I mean..... I work out pretty heavily.
I never get sore wrists....
Sore glutes, back, hamstrings, pecs, calves, biceps, triceps, etc, etc, etc....
I never go... hmmmm, my wrists are sore from working out.
did you covet your neighbors oxen? that's the real question.Back in the Industrial Revolution when I was a teenager I broke my ankle. A modern Torey Mitchellyeah I've always seen him as Lehtonnen light.
thou confessethive played both tennis and squash in heavy schedules - and not once have I ever had a "soreness" in my wrist or shoulders..
Just the usuals - all to do with quads, ankles, hammy, etc...

That's probably because he was a beanpole that was pushed around and losing balance. He still look very lanky out there. Chicago did him a major disservice by dumping him into the NHL right away. He needed 2-3 years to gain mass and learn to use it in a lower league.I really hope this guy pans out. He's clearly talented as hell and moves really good but that wrist injury concerns me and the lack of willingness to be engaged physically at 6'4 has got to change.
I think the reason it worries people is the story we hear for several years now about Drouin's wrists that never seems to heal. People are worried it may happen to Dach. Its unbelievable how Habs fans overreact to a benign comment of "Oh yeah, it gets sore, but like every other body part".
That's a nothing story dumbarses...

Another bloated contracted we will be soon lamenting about.Wait til we get PLD
Wrists aren’t supposed to get sore. Its unbelievable how Habs fans overreact to a benign comment of "Oh yeah, it gets sore, but like every other body part".

Drouin's issues are Drouin. He's a waste of talent!I think the reason it worries people is the story we hear for several years now about Drouin's wrists that never seems to heal. People are worried it may happen to Dach.
Wrists are a joint not a muscle. Sore wrist complaints at a young age is worrying. He said it was no problem, and that it was sore like all body parts. I think ppl might be reading too much into this comment.
Sore joints post injury also indicates a lack of strength in the surrounding area meaning joints are overcompensating, which can lessen with timeWrists are a joint not a muscle. Sore wrist complaints at a young age is worrying.

Sure but I think people are going way too deep into this, do we even have the full diagnosis and prognosis of his injury?A lot of posts in this thread implying posters who are a little worried about Dach’s wrist are clueless..
I find it weird that some think there’s no risk with his injury recovery.
Can we rename this the "Dr Recchi" edition?
