Best game from him in a while tonight, if only he could have scored that goal.

I'm definitely against benching him. His problem is he's sat too much over his career due to injuries. He needs to play more and stop protecting the knee and get back to playing physical.

He's heading into the final year of his contract next year, you have to find out if he can take the next step before then. There is no rush this season, they aren't making the playoffs anyways. He either figures it out before seasons end or you look for a replacement in the summer.

The problem is he’s bringing down his linemates with him. If it was just a single player affected, then whatever.

I do feel for Laine having to play with 2 guys trying to find their games. I don't blame Dach for Newhook's play though, he's been awful on his own imo.

I'd like to see Laine and Caufield swapped in the top 6 for a bit and see if that gets both lines going 5 on 5.

Always thought Caufield would be good with Dach. They have to try something.

The thing is, I get trying to help this guy find his game, but it’s just not happening right now. You’re doing it to the detriment of the team. There’s no reason, with the way they are playing this season, that Evans should be playing less than Kirby. He even had another goal tonight.

Jake Evans would have roofed that pass from Suzuki... If I ever see a Dach curve on a hockey stick, I'm staying away.
With Dach's length it was an easy reach around but he rushed it.

I have a feeling we may see a number of different combos attempted in this next stretch of games.
Heck we may even go as far as including Pezz in one of them.

I thought this was his best game by far in a very long time. Still a long way to go but he's coming along slowly and surely. His compete was there tonight and I'll take that all day.
His skating looked a lot better. He's still not the physically imposing and skilled center he was to end 2023, but he didn't look like the worst player in the league.

Evans is on a hot streak he is scoring at around 26%.

And Evans has been playing more than Dach in the last 10-12 games.

Yes and no, I honestly think some players are good where they are and in some situations. Won’t necessarily be the same player with top 6 minutes.
Of course, but at some point ride the hot hand. You know Marty is trying hard to win and no one in their right mind thinks playing Dach more icetime is more beneficial at this point in time.

He's losing weight finally you can see it in his chubby face. Guess the extra work he's putting in skating and shooting etc can only help? Dach and Newhook should not be on 2nd line. Problem is they are even worse in 3rd or 4th hole. Does Newhook have his 1st assist yet?

I thought Dach created a number of good chances tonight this game wasn't on him.
Too bad he couldn't finish that set up by Suzuki but his game is trending the right way.
Solid game from him, still a long way to go but no big defensive lapses. Real shame he didnt get the goal but it's on the way, he's in the right place at the right time.
