Hence leave him there and let him simmer. Throw him in the pool and see if he can swim. We need to know if he's cut out to be a 2nd line C or not. I don't care if he's good or not.
They tried that and abandoned it.. for now.

If they get a good sample of him on the wing - and he’s successful - they’ll have something to compare to his future work at center. They can say “the knee is fine, line-mates fine”, the major difference is the position.

If he’s center right now and not having success - folks will have a different opinion of the cause. The knee? Linemates? Position? Look no further than this thread.

I'm tired of the discourse that he's not a center and better on the wing. It's not true and it's never been true.

Of course he looks better playing wing with Caufield and Suzuki.

When he's in the middle he has a struggling Newhook, a Slaf who is up and down and isn't capable of driving a line just yet, and Armia who is abject trash.

You're asking him to find his game but also elevate wingers. That's an unfair ask. Give him Caufield while he's at center and give him some f***ing help.

All his best plays on the top line as a winger comes through the middle of the ice anyway.
One thing they could try: Dach with Slaf and CC. Give Nick Newhook and Roy.

Maybe they could get everyone going.

I've said for a long time that the duo should be Slaf Suzuki and Caufield Dach but no one in the organization seems to realize that Caufield and Suzuki don't have a special chemistry. They're just two good players playing together.

I know I will get scorched for this but I am not sure Dach will ever regain his potential after that injury.

Hes had way more Flashes of being who he was last year recently. He's drawn a lot of penalties and created more chances with his reach and hands. It's coming.

Itd be more concerning if the whole team was looking good and it was him struggling. Hes gotta come back from a massive injury and missed time and theres very few players helping out there.

Cole's leading the league in goals (tied) so moving him anywhere doesn't make sense to me.

None of it is a result of this special chemistry between him and Nick. His oppo winger has been different all the time.

Fully agree with this. In fact, against CAL, Dach and CC where connecting more then with Suzuki. These duo also balance the size of player, making it easier on certain matchups. Finally, Slaf and Dach play a similar game along the boards, they can pin the D deep together, but can't finish because they're all behind the goal line.

When Laine is back, you go

Laine - Suzuki - Slaf
CC - Dach - Roy

I know I will get scorched for this but I am not sure Dach will ever regain his potential after that injury.
There are so many players that got similar injury and they took many months before they got back into it.

Dach's performance is the least concerning to me right now.
