Yup, since Dach moved to the No. 1 line, he has 4 points in 3 games. More importantly , Suzuki has 3- 3-6 totals in those three games, while Caufield had two goals, giving him eight on the season. Dach is better playmaker.

Dach isn't durable. Poor on faceoffs and defensive liability in own end. Team way better last two games.
I also feel having Slaf with Suzuki and Cole is putting all your eggs in one basket. I think Slaf can be more of a threat on the second line than Dach at this current point in time with the skill we have available there.

Dach was looking very good on wing and in no time, he was back at center where he is obviously not up to the task currently.

Dach -12 just 10 games into season.
It's an "on the ice" stats and more representative of the players on the ice at that moment than an individual.

Except that Dach has the most GA at even strenght on the team and poor production. But Newhook/Armia aren't much better. The new lines will be interesting. Slaf is the only +1 forward.

Who is the most over-rated player in the team ? It can't be Dvorak, Anderson, Armia nor Gallagher. It can't be Caufield nor Guhle.

The possible choices: Suzuki, Slaf, Dach, Newhook, Evans, Matheson, Hutson, Xhekaj. What would be your choice of the most over-rated player ?

My pick is Dach. He isn't good enough to be 2C. Xhekaj would be my 2nd pick.

Dach is a top 6 player IMO. Centre or not.

Personally, I think Xhekaj might be the most overrated

He’s sound asleep and 2 secs late reacting to everything from coverage to opportunity, and has 0% deception in his game to go with it. Literally can’t make a pass not picked off. Dach ship has sailed, already time to move on.

Almost sounds like he's missed significant time and needs to get back up to speed. How are having this conversation ? The reason is literally that he's coming off an injury and needs time.

Takes nothing away from him as a person, I’m sure he’s a nice kid. I can be empathetic and still see he sucks, knowing it’s because he has barely played hockey as an adult changes nothing to that fact.

Have the habs become a reality show or are we still paying to watch hockey games here?

Are we contenders this year? No right?

It’s a transition year anyway. So let the guy find his game.

A reality show, best part is the coach presser, everybody love it so everything is good in Habsland

I can agree with your assessment of his game right now, but your conclusion is ridiculous.

It's very clear the Habs are in a phase of their rebuild where they can afford to be patient. They don't need to move on from anyone. If Buffalo moved on from 23 year old Tage Thompson, it would have been an incredible mistake. Of course it's unlikely Dach ends up as good of a player, but even that slim chance is worth taking because the Habs have nothing to gain from not rolling that dice. The trade is done, the gamble has been made already. They need to see it through.

My main problem with Dach is that he is playing like a guy afraid of getting injured again. He's not banging along the boards like a guy his size should be. His offensive calling cards are silky hands and good vision, and I feel like in order to make the most of those skills, he needs to become a dominant, physical puck protector and board player, à la Joe Thornton.

Let's hope he regains that physical edge as he becomes more confident that his body can take a hit.

Lack of coverage requires time ? C'mon ,I get his game speed & timing not being there yet but puck watching is puck watching, but to also be fair he hasn't been the only passenger .This teams identity is almost non existent, you just don't know what version your going to get on any given night, sorry but not something I would spend hundreds of dollars to see in person ;)

Him and Slaf has the most hits for forwards on the team, Slaf through the league. Not that we have a team that hits a lot but Dach hasn’t been that different as before on that front, he was just quicker to react and a little less behind the play before the injury. He’ll need some time to be 100% like before.
