Just like Xhekaj, he needs time. And patience.
They both got big injuries and need time to find their groove back.

I was hoping for a better start for him but this isn’t unexpected. I still think at the end of the day, Kirby will chalk up 50 points for us.Just like Xhekaj, he needs time. And patience.

I don't like his body language some times. Often he has the puck, makes space for himself, and then looks as though he doesn't know what to do with it, so forces a pass that doesn't work.The 3rd period was a lot better, too bad Newhook couldn't finish that beauty play; it might have made a difference on his confidence going into next game.
He does have the same problem as the rest of the roster though and it's too much coasting, not enough engaging with the body, and too much reliance on digging with the stick.
Get the feet moving, get the body in, and then use the stick.

I am hopeful because this is not what he looked like two years ago. For whatever reason, he is making bad decisions with the puck. I will attribute it for now to his timing being off due to the injury.
The habs need him to get on his game.
He telegraphs his passes so badly. He needs to threaten with his shot, even if only to be a more successful playmaker.I don't like his body language some times. It was a beauty play but I wish he was more greedy in that instance, shoot the puck, don't over complicate things especially when you're not in the best form.The 3rd period was a lot better, too bad Newhook couldn't finish that beauty play; it might have made a difference on his confidence going into next game.

NoI am not low on Dach. Just pondering alternative roads we might be forced to go down. Would be a crazy move but this is the kind of move that pushes the Habs up to the playoffs?
If the Pens say yes, would you do it?
* Dach
* Anderson
* Flames/Panthers pick
* Barron
for
* Crosby
* Letang
Caufield / Suzuki / Slaf
Laine / Crosby / Demidov
Armia / Newhook / Kapanen
Heineman / Evans / Gallagher
Beck, Hage, Roy, F Xhekaj, etc
Matheson / Letang
Hutson / Guhle
Xhekaj / Savard
Reinbacher, Mailloux, Engstrom
You can’t be serious. Habs are not near making playoffs. I think you just threw a lob over the net for fun.Yup. I don't consider this as crazy as it seems. I don't hate Dach but something tells me he is not here for the long haul. I also think the Pens miss the playoffs and are in rebuild denial.
Dach and the Flames/Panthers 1st are the youth hits. Crosby and Letang get us to the playoffs now vs later and the pressure is less on them at age 37 on our team with others like Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf, Guhle, Hutson surrounding them.
Lets see how this one ages. I know how it can look bad.
Explain to me what is bad about it? I can guess but rather you explain it? Value is not there? Bad idea for the Habs in our rebuild? Pens will never do it?
NoYes, we are on step 3 as the conversation starting point. This has the be the season where we find our true evaluation on Dach. Can't let is limbo on further than that.
When talking about Dach disappointing and needing a piece now, we can't talk about Beck, Kapanen, Newhook, Hage. Otherwise that's what creates the circle spin. The only two I would have confidence in being an impact 2C is Demidov or Hage but that is one again... years away
If Dach doesn't live up, this is where I land at Crosby. Perfect gap insert IMO.
You over thinkMy man Heineman deserves a center that wins face offs though. And Dach with Newhook the lefty to take them strong side leaves out Heineman. Kap 2C would be a bad look for the old Dacher at the wing I imagine.
Many were counting on him heavily this season. If his play continues like this I hope we sell hard at deadline. Can't build a competitive spirit with players finishing 25th in league. More valuable gaining the young assetsCan you imagine how he feels right now? He is coming off major knee surgery, can't seem to find his game and the team is playing brutal hockey. He just needs a couple of points to get him going.
Glad you are recovering well from the accident!I had a weird, totally out of the blue accident early summer that resulted in a head injury, some brain bleeding and it temporarily affected my balance.
It's taken care and gone.Everything is healed....BUT
Scan is showing nothing, multiple scans actually, I still have a small persistent feeling of balance issue. It doesn’t actually happen, but i FEAR that it may. I NEVER had balance issues or fear of them in my entire life. EVER. I can't even remember ever falling other then playing hockey decades ago.
Brain surgeon chalked it up to my brain being psychologically defensive on its own. The feeling is better now the several weeks ago. It will disappear completely in time as the brain "forgets" the incident.
It's as simple as this, a physical trauma can induce psychological trauma.
Dach had serious knee injury and even though it's healed, he may want to do something physically but he has this fear buried deep inside his brain pulling him just a bit back. He is likely not aware of it as it's happening.
Dachs knees may be fine. Maybe perfect physycally, but not his mind.
Give him time.
EDIT....this is what my helmet looked like after my accident. I can't blame my brain for a bit of survival fear...nor Dachs brain for him being tentative to go into full bore contact.
Give him time...i don't know how long, but that trauma "should" wear off.
Thanks.Glad you are recovering well from the accident!
