I will try Evans Dach Gurianov line. Evans can take the faceoff , Gurianov is a shooter.

Only 4 faceoffs taken on 44 mins of icetime since his return.

Really like his game, but why is MSL not giving him NHL reps? That season is over.

We're not interested in seeing Drouin take draws.

He played on wing his first game back, though.

This is a really, really good idea.
It's too bad MSL won't try it.

Gurianov needs a playmaker and a good two way pkayer to play with. He's a bit clueless with the puck for now. So playing with two solid playmakers who are responsible with the puck and can get him the puck would be great.

Plus it might help the tank :)

Missed the games last night. No points for Dach. Did he center a line?

St. Louis is trying to win, because it's his job.

Drouin sits at 45% for faceoffs which is terrible. Dach sits at.... 39% which is f***ing brutal.

That might be why Drouin takes more than him

Yes, Drouin - Dach - Gurianov.

They had some chances in particular Dach missed a chance in close where the whole top right side of the net was open and the goalie was looking the other way. He shot high and looked skyward. He could have easily had one.

I was at the game last night and Dach had some good moments. He did look rusty though which is often the case when a player returns from a long layoff they can look very good in the first game back in his case two games back and then it catches up. You may remember how good Eddy looked his first game back. Despite not getting any points he was an integral part of our PP and keeping some decent possession. He finally got frustrated with the puck not sitting right for him and decked a defender after gaining the blue line and slipping the puck by him.

No stress, Dubois will take faceoffs for him next year. You never have enough centermans and these two could play against any top line out there with a third wheel like Heineman.

Dach is becoming a very special player and I can't believe h'e only 21... those big centers take long to fully understand their potential and I believe we haven't seen his second gear yet

I honestly prefer him as a RW. There's a fair chance the Habs get another really good center, prospect or otherwise, somewhere along the way, possibly as soon as this upcoming off-season. So I think there is a very good chance long term at least, he ends up on the wing at least much of the time. Perhaps playing something of a hybrid role.

Really, if I had to say who he's reminding me of, it's Blake Wheeler. Another big kid who took a bit of time to develop, and eventually turned out to be a fantastic hybrid winger. He'd take faceoffs sometimes, play center when needed, but spent a lot of time on the wing. And often taking on center responsibilities defensively and then shifting to the wing on attack. And I can honestly see Dach playing a very similar role in the future.

With Caufield, Dach and Slaf, that's at least 3 top 6 wingers, if Dach ends up in that role.

I know a lot of people want him to stay at center long term, and he might. I just think there's just as good a chance he won't. But I'm not sure it matters that much again, as he wouldn't be the first or only player to play as needed, sometimes hybrid, sometimes wing, sometimes center. JT Miller is another I can think of off the top of my head. Brayden Schenn.... And really, depending on who that center is, if it were say Bedard or Fantili, they'd probably push Suzuki to the 2nd line even. I mean, that's the ideal situation, best case scenario type stuff.

But imagining a line with Dach and Slaf on either side of any of those two or Suzuki is pretty mouthwatering. And both Dach and Slaf would be good opposites for Caufield as well, given his sort of one dimensional, attacking style, which is why I think he stays with Suzuki probably no matter what, he really needs linemates that can handle more defensive and physical responsibility.

Anyway, wherever Dach ends up, he's certainly making good now on the expectations. I still see that level of player that everyone thought he was back in his draft year. It took a little longer to get there than many had hoped, to the Habs benefit ultimately.

Every time I think of how good a price he was too, kind of jealous as a Ranger fan. Would love to have Dach on our 3d line instead of Chytil.... or for that matter Kakko most of the time.

Two things happened this season that really pushed his development

1) As a RW with Nick and Cole. The opportunity and quality linemates seemed to boost his offensive confidence

2) That Florida game when he knocked Radko Gudas on his ass. It was like a lightbulb went off and he realized that he can be a physical presence and now he’s playing like the big beast that he is

Pummeling Andrew Copp was also a statement

I think the spark was his shootout winner in Chicago (vote of confidence from coach + actually scoring). He never looked back and that gave us the Clutterbuck cartwheel, Gudas staredown, Copp brutality, etc.

At the beginning of the season it seems he was a big target dummy for everyone but now he’s bulldozing defenders waiting for him at the blue line. Hope we can see the same physical progression from Slaf.

Good points, he's making yuge strides since he became aware of his strenght versus other minions. He's like Xerxes looking down at everyone and just starting to realize he can pass around or through them as he please.

Yeah, sometimes it take some time for big guys to use their body as freely. Probably because they get stronger with age and then get comfortable in games with experience and aren’t scared to play physical anymore. Even 6’4, 18-19 years old can be intimidated.

Dach can get stronger in his legs too.. get him on the Crosby squat program.

Beast.

The way he attacks the net and crashing it or bulldozing his way in the corners.

Jesus.

He's the best puck manager who has ability to handle contact. Production is nice to see but eye test on how he drives play is more value. Production comes after and gets better with more talent in that top 9.

Every games, he play really well, even games he don't put points. Very consistent player this year and with his high offensive talent, great two-way ability, he don't even reach his full potential. Hope Habs will don't put him on ice for the rest 7 games. Dach, Slafkovsky and Caufield will be ready for the next season and they are all going to dominate. Great time to be a Habs fan!! 🤩

Thanks for the comment about Dach. I want that Habs become good like NYR too. I think we have a D like Fox in coming with Hutson. Time will tell if he is going to close what Fox bring, but Hutson have high potential, no doubt.
