Tip from the mid-40's, cut down on the suga, things will be alright. In north america, we average 26 tablespoons a day. Health Canada suggests a max of 9 tbls per day, but if you can bring it down to 5-6 per day, or none at all, you'll be ok.

People think eating fat is the problem, it's not. When you eat low fat meat, your body produces more insulin. When you take sugar, same happens, but even worst. Insulin is your enemy as you grow older. High insulin is the domain of obesity and diabetes.

After 40, I started gaining weight. I was a stable 175-180 from 35 to 40, but after 40, I went up to 190, was starting to get a gut when Covid hit because the pool where I trained closed. Getting a gut is a nightmare for me. I absolutely do not want one. So I started looking into diet. After a lot of digging, I simply cut down the sugars. No gut.

Unfortynately there's no cure for male patterned baldness, may I suggest a toupet? Sure, it'll cut down on the power of the death stare simply because people will be distracted wondering, is that a toupet, but at least you won't be bald.

Do Not, I repeat, Do Not go for a cumb-over, you'll conpletely kill the death stare.
You are dead on about sugar. And it is in everything, including pasta bread etc. as carbs. And massively in all packaged foods, even 'salty' ones because it enhances flavour. And 'low fat' food is bullshit too. It is full of sugar and toxic hydrogenated oils to make up for low fat lack of flavour. The right fat is actually good for humans, as 50,000 years of not being obese while eating it attests to. The worst fat ever made was Crisco, from Cotton. But ALL corn oils etc are super bad too. Stick to Olive oil.

The dietary advice from authorities in north america has been dead wrong for 50 years. Eggs, lean meats cooked properly, grass fed butter. All good for you and not fattening. Breads and pasta: Pure sugar. Almost all processed foods: death and obesity. The cereal aisle in most supermarkets is f***ing terrifying whan you know this. As is the coca cola aisle.

I also have a very high metabolic rate. I eat/drink too much sugar, and yeah I should really cut that crap from my diet.

Dangerously approaching my 40s.
Cut out all processed and packaged foods and most carbs such as bread and rice too. The killer for me is I love Booze, which is packed with sugar too. f***ing drag to cut back on that. I love booze. it's great but a f***ing killer in many ways.

Depends how big that gut is. I thought having a small gut was normal for Nordic males, to store reserves for the winter. Admittedly a handwavy theory, but it has been my natural pattern to be hungrier during fall and take on ~10 lbs and then lose it during the summer.

As for people with baldness, just shave the whole thing. I've been balding since my 20s and not for a second did it ever bothered me, because I just shave it off.
Gym is very very good for you but will not take out the belly fat. Only low sugar and carbs, combined with not eating all day and eating well only during an 8 hour period will work on belly fat. It forces the body to eat its own fat. Just as it did whan our ancestors could not catch food and went without much for days at a time. I've done it. You get light headed though.

You can always make your own bread and pasta, hold the sugar. Or at least eat high fibre bread with low sugar like the St-Méthode 9 grains. I switched to eating tortillas too, less sugar.

Big believer in calories in vs calories out, I don’t disagree with what you are saying though. However I find sometimes we look for enemies. I went from 205 lbs to 165lbs. I do not worry about sugar at all, i eat fruit non stop. I do agree on the animal fats though, saturated fats have been made the enemy in favour of vegetable oils and polyunsaturated fats.

Heart disease has actually skyrocketed after the 1900’s. We have a focus on cholesterol now for heart health even though lowering cholesterol hasn’t really been associated with a decrease in heart disease.

You're younger though iirc. It took a lot of time before I had to change my habits, because it didn't affect me. Until it did.

Like I said, it's not just about obesity and diabetes. High insulin is the biggest killer on the planet, for many reasons, including a similar strong link with cancer as smoking tobacco.

Natural sugar from fruits is very different though from consuming processed / refined sugar. What’s the saying eat a couple of oranges instead of having a glass of orange juice?

I have been very impressed with this kid. He is a takeaway machine, guy is really good at stripping the puck from his opposition. Great passer too, very smart player. I did find he was letting himself get pushed around too much early in the year but that seems to have slowed down a bit. I don't know if he will ever be a big-time point producing star but he is a very useful player that will make his line better.
