So out of curiosity, was anyone listening to TVA tonight? Are they still crapping on this kid?
There's a record of Bergevin's trade history and it's not that good. If you look it up he barely won 50% of the time, and when he won a trade he would blunder it with a stupid move.Bergevin got us Nick Suzuki for Max Pacioretty. Nothing Hughes has done so far is even remotely close in impact to that move.
I don't care that they wanted somebody else, this is the recorded trade that happened.
The Kirby Dach trade was a smart gamble, and I'm impressed at how well it's looking now. I was really 50-50 on Dach fulfilling his potential. But it's going in that direction now.
Still, Suzuki remains King.
I really just hope he maintains some consistency and doesn't fall off a cliff, feels like it happens to so many of our players. Imagine if we made a trade for Vilardi too when Kings seemed to have given up on him...

Dach looks kind of slim honestly. If he gets bigger, I think he might become even scarier out there in terms of throwing people around.Wow.
Just wow. Not just the fithy passes, but the play to get up after the borderline hit by Petterson to screen Jarry on Caufield's goal and throw Petterson do the ice in so doing showed the level of f**k you in his game, too.
About time we had a #3OA work out for us ;-)
And kudos to whichever HFHabs colleague coined "Curvy Duck". Love it.
Our bank of Dach nicknames is growing.Wow.

Better than that pic from someone of that atheltic muscle-Kirby who was trying to contain half the Amazon rainforest in its underwear ;-)Our bank of Dach nicknames is growing.
Since he’s a winger these days rather than a center, introducing …

That was the stuff of nightmares.Better than that pic from someone of that atheltic muscle-Kirby who was trying to contain half the Amazon rainforest in its underwear ;-)
It would be incredible although I don’t know what asset we would have to give up?With how good Dach has been, it makes you wonder if we will try and go for Laffy too. Guy can be way better than what he has shown.
Indeed, another reason to keep Dach at wing is that Hughes has to figure out which of Monahan and Dvorak to keep or trades.lol your confidence is refreshing. I'm more of a wait and see kind of guy. Once Dvorak or Monahan is moved. We'll find out if the bolded part is true.
I rather go for Dubois. With how good Dach has been, it makes you wonder if we will try and go for Laffy too. Guy can be way better than what he has shown.
Monahan is playing well but let's not forget his injury history.Indeed, another reason to keep Dach at wing is that Hughes has to figure out which of Monahan and Dvorak to keep or trades.
Right now? They will want our first. It would be incredible although I don’t know what asset we would have to give up?
DuboisI do think management went into the deal acquiring a diamond in the rough center that they could develop into a full fledged top 6C.
However, if the player continues to be productive as a winger, then it’s a no brainer. I believe that MSL said something on tonight’s presser about making it easier on Dach now since he doesn’t have to shoulder as many responsibilities. Whatever works for Dach to be at his best.
Hughes can certainly pivot and look for his top 6C elsewhere.
Why in the world would Hughes target Lafreniere? Dach's situation was far different; he had an untapped upside that Laff doesn't appear to have. No reason to even consider this move. With how good Dach has been, it makes you wonder if we will try and go for Laffy too. Guy can be way better than what he has shown.
.the skills were always apparent. But some guys have skills but can never put it together to produce. We've seen that with Drouin and Armia. There were very few of us that got excited when the trade was announced.
Very happy to see now that more people are getting behind Dach and are starting to see his potential.
I can't believe how good Dach looks. He won't keep up this pace, but 50ish points is now a very reasonable expectation, which would be freakin solid. There were very few of us that got excited when the trade was announced.

Dubois
On the surface a top 9 of these nine going forward would be nice.
Caufield-Suzuki-Dach
Slaf-Dubois-Mesar
Anderson-Monohan-Gallagher
There’s talent in there and speed, size, some fight, toughness, experience, youth.
Things are shaping up…..dunno if we can finish bottom 5 this year, but I’ll easily trade that in for entertainment like I saw last night and deep playoff runs!!
Yager or Fantilli would aure look good in that mix though
I’m truly at that Blue pill/Red pill moment
I liked it from the get go and I’m a huge Romanov fan!!There were very few of us that got excited when the trade was announced.
Very happy to see now that more people are getting behind Dach and are starting to see his potential.
The beauty of a deep prospect pool….oh….and we have 11 picks in the next draft including 2 in the 1st round and another 2 in round 1 of ‘25And Beck, Farrell and Heineman may push for Monahan, Gallagher and Anderson's spots in the top 9.
I’m targeting Dubois. I love his game, talent and size and believe his attributes would complement well our little chickens who are about to blow the door down to the NHL!!!Why in the world would Hughes target Lafreniere? Dach's situation was far different; he had an untapped upside that Laff doesn't appear to have. No reason to even consider this move.
