It looked like MacDonell got his stick up in Kelly's face at the faceoff and Kelly retaliated a bit too agressively.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerEnded up with 14 stitchesI missed it, all I saw was MacDonell go down in a heap. No initial signal by either ref when they came over to look at the video. Replay wasn't shown in the arena. Calling it a cross-check instead of a high stick, it's possible they saw an intent to injure. MacDonell went to the bench initially, then to the room and didn't return.
It was off a faceoff. MacDonnell gave him a little cross check and Kelly 1-upped his with one straight in the face and twice as hard. Not sure how many games he gets but definitely will be a suspension. Doesn’t matter too much anyways though since he likely doesn’t play much in playoffs.Does anyone have a replay/description of the Kelly major? It was right off the faceoff and it was a pretty quick review so it must've been somewhat clear, and Kelly isn't someone I'd have guessed would take a major.
I assume he'll be suspended for the first 2 games, but I'm not sure he would've been in the lineup regardless.
The one thing that stuck out to me is how often I heard Mondoux's name - even though they said Mandoux every single time. Hopefully he doesn't play in the playoffs because it'd mean there's 2 D injuries, but he looks like a steady defensive defenseman with size for the next couple years.
Agreed. And take players that are going to come instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and speculate about where kids may want to get traded to in case their dad is coaching a team. Do your homework. Same with the import draft. Look how good it is when you can get solid imports here. With all but the lottery finalized looks like Kingston picks 9th and 17th, before sitting until I believe the 71nd pick (FLNT 4th).
Past 9th picks: Shutron 2004, Werek 2007, Bennett 2012
Past 17th picks: Dunkley 2016, Frasca 2022.
Need to nail these picks and form a new core to build around after this year.
Any idea on who would be available at #9 and #17? Who are the top prospects for the upcoming draft anyway?Agreed. From what I've heard there's a consensus top 4, then another glut of 6-8 guys in the next group that'll come down to preference.Any idea on who would be available at #9 and #17? Who are the top prospects for the upcoming draft anyway?
I feel like we should be looking for forwards in this draft as well so this helps if it is a forward-heavy draft. I have really liked both Mondoux and Moore and how they've played when given the opportunity tbh. From what I've heard there's a consensus top 4, then another glut of 6-8 guys in the next group that'll come down to preference.
Fairly forward heavy draft too I believe, which makes me think they look at the import draft for D.
Off the top of my head over the past 10-15 years Ikonen and Vainonen for 2 years together, Lammiko was great, meralainen had lots of amazing saves. Defence wasn’t great that year though so not the best numbers, Rasanen and Nyman together the same year and now Uronen and Pieniniemi.I believe Kingston has gotten really lucky with Finns. Lammikko, Ikonen, Meerlavien and probably more. Excuse the spellings went from memory.
