If he makes the team and plays well his stock will be through the roof. Would be tough to sell but also tough not to. If they can get a player that is a year younger and a big contributor (not as big as him obviously), then that would lessen the blow for this season and still give them a shot to do some damage with another solid OA or two pickup.
100%. After this the only other move I see them making is potentially bringing in an overage defenceman with the extra spot they have open

Looks like no Hemstrom for Sweden:

Also - Poole's suspension ended up at 3 games so he'll be able to play Sunday @ Sudbury. With Ludwinski gone I'm assuming Weir will be called up, but we'll either need another F call-up (not sure who would be next in line) or to go 11-7 with a Bergeron call-up because Chromiak's gone.

If Poole is back, and Ludwinski is gone and all other forwards are healthy they will have 12 not including Weir.
  1. Heyes
  2. Thibodeau
  3. Miedema
  4. Frasca
  5. Ludwinkski
  6. Poole
  7. McNammara
  8. Cavallin
  9. Battaglia
  10. Hemstrom
  11. Hopikins
  12. Soto
  13. Callens
+ 14 F - EXTRA Weir

That being said, I'm sure both he and Bergeron will be going on the trip because illness, injury and potential suspensions happen.

True - I wasn't sure if Ludwinski would go up with them for Thursday/Friday games right before camp but if he does then Poole would for sure take the place of Ludwinski when he leaves.

Yes that will probably be how it goes. Either an extra d or extra f will be dressed- prob forward

On the fronts fav snack thing they just posted weir, and Bergeron were both in the video. As was ludwinski. Didn’t see Chromiak so I assume he’s gone already. If I were to guess ludwinski is playing tomorrow then heading away. Doubt he plays Friday too

Weir has 21 pts in 14 GOJHL games

Bergeron 5 pts in 11 CCHL games

Jacob Leblanc (d) on sarnia had 2 goals and 2 assists today in a win vs barrie. Man would it be nice to have him on the team!

Again highly doubtful they acquire him but damn it would be a good addition

Personally, I think it would be smart to keep him. I absolutely see the plus side of moving him for picks/a young player, but we have a super young team. That leadership from an NHL drafted player is so valuable. I think winning a round or two and having the team gain that experience outweighs the picks you could get in a hypothetical trade for him.

We still have enough assets to make a big addition next year for the 'go for it' year. It's very realistic that he is moved though and I could definitely see it happening. Time will tell I suppose.
Kingston mgmt has the same question that I think is going through the Petes and 67's, the conference is weak this year. Barrie and Mississauga have set lineups that will be returning that look pretty good.

However, with a push this year is anyone to be division leader?

Therefore the difference between a heavy buyer and a seller is an interesting one.

The question to ask is not so much about this year but next year. Look at the prospective lineups that are coming back.

Also, the next question is who is buying this year. Sudbury will be the only real buyer in the east this year and I think they are going to be looking at Beck, Mayer and either Donoso or De vin.

Ludwinski and Stonehouse as well as others may not bring the return that people expect. I think it will be more in the form or picks with very few if any players moving

Wakely nb
Giroux flint
fimis
Beck
all slot in as better centers than Ludwinski

Then there is the Kitchener question what are they doing? Everything says they should be going for it But they also have an empty closet so trading Rebkop is not out of the question.

So that being said do you make trades that are going to assist you this year but nreak the bank by trading some picks adding the extra D or a better goalie to assist?

I still think that a trade with Ottawa for Donoso would be interesting and not that costly. Then you can send Salajko to get some ice time and have a reasonable pair. Kyle Downey and a pick might do the ticket if Downey shows in Ottawa

The twins would be good additions if they would be considered two of the three OAs next season.

An overpayment would be required for Fimis & Wakely, much like trying to acquire McCoy.

Looks like Chromiak is playing tonight based on the scorer's sheet - not sure when Slovakia's camp is but I wasn't expecting him in the lineup this weekend.

Beast you can’t be serious.you think wakely, goroux, fimis all are better than ludwinski???!!! If they were would they not be drafted or get an invite to the u20’s? They are NOT COMPARABLE

Good we will need him this will be a rough weekend

In case anyone was/is wondering....Savard to the GOJHL

Hope he keeps away from weir

From Jim Gilchrest:

Holmes won’t be playing until after this weekend until after the Christmas break- supposedly getting a minor surgery somewhere.

Also ludwinski won’t be leaving until Sunday. So he won’t play vs Sudbury but he’s playing against the soo.

Good game by fronts 4-3 win against NB to start their tough road trip

Snapping a 10 game losing streak against NB

Frasca 2 goals to put him up to 5pts (3g) in 3 games

Hemstrom 1 g 3 a to put him tied for the team lead with thibodeau and ludwinski.
(Maybe a little f.u to Sweden for leaving him off team)

Actually I can in the case of all 3 they have a higher point count but in the case of Wakely and Fimis they will be back next year.

It also comes down to price and what the teams want.
It is ot necessarily who is the better layer but what is the price and what is the team doing.

As I also stated Kingston at this stage is between the rock and hard place.

on the one hand they have a team that can compete for first in the division but on the other hand, they have a team with the right acquisitions that could also compete next year.

The players that I mentioned are doing better ppoints wise and on teams that will be looking to trade and build there fore they may take draft picks instead of a body.

The other point I am making is that there are a lot of players that are avail to sell. Thereby deluting the market price.

Ludwinski brings far more than just points and it’s a big reason why hockey Canada recognized him and not guys like wakely, fimis, stonehouse.

Also guys like wakely, fimis and stonehouse may not even be up for grabs. Where if kingston continues to be mediocre this year ludwinski, who might make Canadian national team is 100% going to bring in more than those other guys who are pretty 1 dimensional.

Owen beck wasn’t the best point producer last year but did everything the right way and was a winner. Ludwinski is just like that. Wont be for as much as beck last year because Pete’s wanted beck for 2 years.

If teams want a complete 200 foot centre who is one of the fastest in the league, works one of the hardest in the league, a captain with the right mentality, has a good hockey iq and a good shot they’re going for ludwinski.

If they’re going for goals/points they may go after a guy like wakely (his numbers are inflated though because of the line he is on) or fimis.

If they want a shit disturber who can get some points they’ll go for stonehouse.

These players aren’t too comparable lol.

Also they just got frasca back and have an incredible amount of centres in the lineup. Frasca has been playing like a #1 guy so far but it’s early for him. 5pts (3G) in just 3gp.

I’m sure they could spare ludwinski for either a ton of picks or a proven 06/07 and not as many picks to go(prob the 06 route)

Fimis, Giroux, and Wakely are most likely not being traded.
But I don’t think Beast is far off in stating Fimis & Wakely could hold more trade value than Ludwinski. Both will return for another season, over a pt/g, and well above average defensively.
Wakely is a bit of a power centre. Fimis is right at the top of the league in FO%.

I think Ludwinski would be a better 2-3 centre for a loaded team ROS, but I would not trade either of Fimis or Wakely straight up for Ludwinski.
Fimis is an improved and still improving player that was acquired by Erie a year ago for 3-2nds and 2-3rds.

I agree that if Kingston sells that he is the most likely. My point though is with the number of people avail I think the market is going to be a buyer's market with a lot of players on avail but not many teams buying.

When has there ever been a buyers market? No matter how many ((good)) players become available, they are traded near precedented returns.

I was thinking earlier, can anyone else recall Kingston ever winning a playoff series where they were the lower seed? I think they did before they became the frontenacs, but I don’t think it’s happened since.

They beat Barrie in 2017-18. Might be the only time though.

Their playoff series record as the Frontenacs is 8-22. That’s not counting the 9 years of not making the playoffs. On the plus side, it is 5-4 since 2015.

I can see them finishing anywhere from 2-6. I don’t think any team wants to play them first round though could see them stealing a playoff series as a lower seed. There’s a couple teams that are built for the playoffs and they’re one of them. Only 2 teams I wouldn’t want to face in round 1 are Mississauga and sudbury

Yes I was thinking that team finished higher in the standings. God that was a great series. And then they looked so terrible against Hamilton.
