Possibly. But, you could play devils advocate and say with better coaching and development they should have been picked even higher. It is impossible to know since they never got that development from anyone else.

Sudbury wolves got Dalibor dvorsky- blues first round pick this past draft. They have 2 imports 1 is a goalie which is very important and the other is former front Martin chromiaks younger brother Jakub who’s a top 4 d man on Sudbury.
Fronts have an import spot open. But this would close the door on pieniniemi coming here.
I think they should go for the kid. (Chromiak)
They can get atleast this year out of him probably next year too when I think they’ll be a better team overall. Where with pieniniemi if he came over it would be 1 year.
If the fronts went and got him I’m not sure who they’d trade. I think they’d want to keep ludwinski unless it’s just ludwinski for Chromiak straight or Chromiak and picks for ludwinski.
But I also wouldn’t be shocked if they let go of guys like thibodeau and battaglia where they can go to a contending team for sure this year- maybe win the whole thing and then next year lead the wolves when guys move on to the nhl/ahl.
Only thing is if it’s the battaglia and thibodeau trade I’m sure the fronts would need to give up picks with it. Maybe a second round pick or 2 thirds.

I agree. Would be sad to see ludwinski go but I think this would improve the teams defence a ton and also would really help for next year too.
Are any of the guys that missed time last weekend expected to be out long-term? Burns I assume is still out for a while but guys like McGowan/Holmes/Hemstrom?
With all the chatter around a potential acquisition of Chromiak just thinking about how it'll affect the depth chart - with the injuries we have he might jump in as #1 if Burns/Holmes/McGowan are still out

Guys projected to be 4th round right now. And before the season it was a top 2 round pick. Pretty sure that guy is better than guys like Schneider, McGowan, Williamson, Bergeron and budnick
He’s improved since last season. I think he would be good with time on 2nd pairing. The first pair would be too much this year imo.
I've seen them enough. Simple question on Chromiak so I assume your answer is zero. Just want to check as the last time you wanted to trade for a guy you had his position wrong. Armchair GM is not always easy.

I agree. Second pair probably with Holmes or burns whatever one is on that line assuming they don’t put their 2 best on the first line and then first pair next year. That puts guys like budnick, Schneider and Williamson down in the lineup. So is way better for the overall depth of the team. they don’t need to pick up a number 1 d man they need depth and a good top 4 d man like him with some potential is what they need imo. If they lose ludwinski that sucks but to be fair he hasn’t really looked too good this year I’m sure they could replace him.

I’ve watched him in kingston 2 times total and on the chl live app against other teams multiple times so I think I have seen him play. Not as much as wolves fans obviously but enough to see the guy is better than the guys I mentioned. nhl scouts think so too with his draft ranking.
If you’re talking about Lawrence give it up that was weeks ago and the guys 6’7- not too many forwards are 6’7 lol.

Sarcasm aside really a trade for a defenceman no matter who it is will not help this team until they establish sysems and get a coach that understands defence
Hell this team could pick up Mews and Marelli and still screw it up by not playing them on the PP.
You have a team that can compete for a top 4 in the conf. The problem is that you need someone behind he bench that can drive the train.

Sprnger will not pay for anyone new and good coaches are already signed to the teams they are coaching.
My dream coach for the Fronts would be Linger. He knows the game and has the gravitas but spunk to get it done.
Imagine the mentality of the dressing room with him. BUT he would want full control of who he works with and what he does with the team. He would also want the right to veto any deals or trade anyone on the team he feels does not measure up.

Beast before the wolves made a trade for deangelis and got dvorsky they were a completely different team. I don’t see any team sticking with them in the east the fronts and 67’s included. Every year it seems like it’s between a couple of teams in the east to represent them in the finals this year I think there is a clear cut favourite in Sudbury.
Unless there is a massive trade like divinctiis and Nelson to kingston lol which I highly doubt will happen because I’d think Saginaw would be in on that and go all out as they’re hosting the M cup- I don’t see another team competing with Sudbury.
Also there is a lot of centres to go around in kingston (ludwinski, frasca, outwater, thibodeau, Hopkins, Poole) and as good as ludwinski will be once he gets going- overall as a team they need the depth in defence more and acquiring a guy like Chromiak would not only help them this year in that regard but it would help them next year too.
If he came here he would likely be the third best d man but probably get better as the year goes on
Also I never thought about the kory cooper idea- I could actually see that happening the last guy that did that I believe was gilmour? But McFarland if not for the Covid year was lined up to do that I believe. Great idea beast- I personally think that’s more likely than promoting McFarland or the other coach and I’m sure cooper wouldn’t turn down a pay raise like that- not sure if he has any prior experience in coaching though.
I’m pretty sure he has a career in the financial industry now, not sure he wants to get back in the hockey world.

I agree you hve the parts to have great center-ice tandem.
I also agree on the right team Chromiak would be a good player.
BUT I think 2 things
1. The Wolves are not going to trade a player like him at this stage. early in the season, you need depth and he gives them that. Also not sure Ludwinski would be the best solution. I think from their standpoint that it might be better to wait. While the Wolves are doing well do not forget about the only undefeated team in the OHL Mississauga.
2. As I said you could have 4 top defencemen all drafted by NHL teams but if you do not know how to use them it is a waste.
The only way I would look at getting another D is if the injuries are worse than stated. If not then wait until you get all the pieces. No matter what this is not a first-place team but it could make a lot of noise in the last half if they can get the coaching figured out
I see Kingston if they get things sorteed by fighting for the 4th playoff slot with Ottawa and a few other teams.
That would not be a bad year. and could bode well for next year.
Kingston needs to stop the 3-year plan and develop the 5-year plan that the good teams have.
BTW Kory would not get a pay raise but it would be a chance to save his job LOL

According to a guy on the Sudbury forum they have 2 weeks to trade him. So he will be traded. Also I don’t know about this but I’d assume they can only dress 2 imports per game.
Also Sudbury beat Mississauga tonight sitting Chromiak because he will be traded and dvorsky apparently is going to be playing tomorrow nights game.
Chromiak won’t play here anymore, you can’t dress 3 imports, he’s 100% gone in the next few days. Hopefully to you guys.
So Sudbury basically has to trade their third best Euro to one of only a handful of teams and so we are going to trade our 1C for him???
Not only that but we have a Euro Dman that might report, very much similarly to how their Euro just decided to come over one day.

It wouldn’t just be straight ludwinski for chromiak.
Would likely be ludwinski to Sudbury for Chromiak and picks.
Those picks would help us for next year or this year if we decided we weren’t done making moves yet. Also it would strengthen our weak d corp and we would get this year and next year out of Chromiak where ludwinski is gone after this year.
If their euro came over I’d say we would either trade hemstrom or pieniniemi to another team for picks. So that would actually benefit us even more because then we’d get picks and a younger player in Chromiak, and more picks for trading one of hemstrom/pieniniemi hypothetically.
Also it isn’t for sure that he will be coming over where it would be a sure thing if we did get Chromiak he would report.

Ling, although one of the best all time fronts wlil not be getting the job. You complain about this coach with little experience, what would you say then ? Rah Rah only gets you so far, and that isn't very far in this league. A zero experience coach getting carte blanche? No way.
