Kingston Frontenacs 2023-24 Season Thread (Part 2)

Looks like Callens was picked up by St Mary's in the GOJHL, same team Ethan Weir has been playing with.

Same roster today, last game of Uens' suspension - hopefully a better effort than Friday.

Battaglia was the only Frontenac I noticed making positive plays...

Generals are literally running them out of the building in the 1st period. Total domination by Oshawa, physically and on the scoreboard.

#76 Schmidt has been God-awful so far tonight.

I will never understand how Kingston thought their goaltending was good enough to avoid addressing at the deadline or prior.

I never understood getting Dubois as soon as they made the trade. They have so many centres, and Dubois’s numbers are inflated due to a crappy Pete’s team. Would’ve made way more sense for them to get a goalie or another oa d man.

This game is the worst one I’ve seen in atleast a month. Cannot being how bad they are playing right now. Just losing uens and McGowan should not make them play like dog shit.

Not to take away from the gens their goalie, goal posts and crossbars are playing really good lol

I completely understand Dubois.
It was to reduce Pooles minutes because he’s a JR A hockey player at best and Dubois is one of the best Faceoff % in the league.
so by rights on those defensive zone faceoffs you end up with possession 65% of the time with Dubois. (This should help the bad goaltending too)
This is a pathetic display by the Fronts.

Kingston is in full meltdown mode. Heyes and his coach are more concerned about engaging with us in Section 115 than focusing on the game. Even the trainer has come out to try and yap at us during the intermission. Laughable how easily they’ve been thrown off their game.

I have to give credit where credit is due - these Oshawa announcers are absolute straight shooters. No bias, Oshawa does something that might've started a scrum like D'Amato flipping the puck at Burns - but at the same time calling out questionable calls like how Kingston ended up with a PP at the end of 2.

All I ask for the 3rd is give Salajko decent defense, don't take stupid penalties and lose your cool but at the same time - keep up the physicality and don't give up.

It also might be uncalled for but when it comes to the typical "pest" type player - if you're going to lose your cool - make it count.

I’ve noticed they’ve been a possession heavy team in the last 5 or so games. Winning the faceoffs would factor into that for sure. Still think that’s not the real need of the team though. Salajko should not be playing and if vaccari is having an off night going to salajko isn’t much of a step up

wouldnt be surprised if people were throwing popcorn or stuff onto the players. That’s the Oshawa special for when our bus trips go up there

Yes exactly defence needs to be way better. Wasn’t giving vaccari much help there except that 5th goal he would’ve wanted back. As long as they score a goal here- can’t get shut out.

Also Luca D’Amato who shot the puck at burns in a 7-0 game at the end of 2 didn’t get a single penalty on that play and burns got a penalty. Ridiculous. How the f did damato not get a penalty there he literally started the scuffle at the end of the period.

Ideally they'd have discussed it as a crew but with it being after the whistle, and a fairly innocent puck flip that if it weren't this kind of game the scrum may not have devolved like that.

Salajko just flat out isn't ready, at what point to they give Downey a shot.

Ideally they'd have discussed it as a crew but with it being after the whistle, and a fairly innocent puck flip that if it weren't this kind of game the scrum may not have devolved like that.

I don't think they can review to add a minor - only double minors for highsticking and majors. If one of the linesmen saw it they'd be able to convene and call it but they wouldn't review for a minor.

Then Meyer started trying to yap back and he got taunted mercilessly. At one point he threw a check while killing a penalty and came back to the bench screaming at us as if he’d accomplished something.

You absolutely CANNOT acknowledge the fans taunting - - especially not when you’re getting completely thrashed in the game.

Clearly Kingston has played like trash in both games this weekend and are frustrated about it.

But to let the fans get in your head so badly as they did tonight shows how mentally fragile their team is.
