Kings Win 5-2

Can't wait until some GM gives Stoll four years. Which teams need a 6C?

You know some sucker is going to look at Stoll and think "well, this guy was a member of two championship teams, went to the Conference Finals in 2013 and was also a part of the 2006 Oilers that came close to winning a Cup." Then said fool will offer Stoll a multi-year contract worth $4M per season.

With that said, watch him end up in Toronto.

Exactly.

If this is what's going to happen if I get laid instead of watching the game, I'm taking offers to set me up for game nights for the rest of the year...
I wish I could unread that.

Well, that explains why the ref didn't blow the whistle down on that play until the Avs touched it in their own end. Obscure rule...I sure didn't know it. Dave Strader clearly didn't know it. Apparently, Quick didn't know it either.

Now that would've been interesting. Take that Roy!

Like on the goals by Gaborik and McNabb?

Like when the goalie is pulled and the Kings can't get a shot on net for 2-3 minuets... the Kings have given up quite a few goals with their opponents goalies out... it would be nice to see the players get an empty netter and end the game instead of blowing leads late. A game against Calgary comes to mind...

Stoll might play Mike Richards back onto the team at this rate.

And Stoll still logged 13:51 with 4 mins in the box.

I've seen nothing which indicates Shore won't be a serviceable 3C in the very near future. Ffs, he's not any worse than Richards or Stoll at this point.

My gut tells me Lewis is penciled in for that spot, though.

"Not being worse" doesn't really set a high standard for 3c though, that line can make or break you. I don't mean that as a slight on shore, actually the contrary, given his meteoric improvement over time Id like to see him continue to marinate on the 4th line while getting some time on the third and the third center should be the priority upgrade for next year.

Stoll was horrendous tonight, atrocious. If there was one complaint from me, it's that. Two penalties in the first period, he's literally become the C version of Matt Greene when it comes to taking stupid penalties.

Nick Shore, though. Can't talk enough about how responsible and good defensively he is for such a young age. It's quite rare to see a young guy like that be given so much confidence from Sutter (remember how long it took Toffoli and Pearson to gain Sutter's confidence).

I understand the frustration with Stoll -- he's not playing well -- but I don't really get the vitriol aimed his way. By all accounts he's a good guy, well-liked by his teammates, works hard, sports the tattoo.

Why the pile-on?

Same can be said of Matt Greene. The frustration comes from their on ice performance (or lack thereof).

Haha, I'm so glad Sutter commented on this because I was wondering about it during the game. Wanted to know why the Kings didn't pull Quick...

Shore and Clifford should played well together last night. I hope they continue to develop some good chemistry.

What confused me more is neither Dave Strader nor Brian Engblom explained it...at least, I didn't catch it if they did.

Strader should know the rule. He's been around a long time. But Engblom...come on, man. You played the game. You should have explained what happened to the audience...we were left confused and bewildered as to what transpired.

Sekera probably had his finest game as a member of the Kings. Him and McNabb were probably the most efficient pair at quickly getting the puck out of their zone with breakout passes or rushes.

i noticed them in the offensive zone a fair bit.
Not sure if they started more frequently (%) in Colorado's end as opposed to Doughty, but would be curious

From the lakingsinsiderpostgame notes the kings are now 10-8 in 3 goal games....maybe it's now a 4-3 league

Because points and numbers are the only thing that matters to the kings and their fans. Especially in this forum.

i know you are being sarcastic but if this were true than there would be alot of people in favor of moving out Kopitar for backstom

What's important is 1 making the playoffs, and 2 having players that can actually contribute if they get to the playoffs.... Stoll is a 3.6M cap hit that is now a "defensive" specialist, because he doesn't generate offense.... The "defensive" part... well last night 2 penalties, from getting burned... and a train wreck on defense. Kings need more out of Stoll. If it isn't sugar coated enough... oh well.

Would be nice to get some more out of Kopitar as well. Kopitar can still play defense though.
