Kings Win 5-2

I understand the frustration with Stoll -- he's not playing well -- but I don't really get the vitriol aimed his way. By all accounts he's a good guy, well-liked by his teammates, works hard, sports the tattoo.

Why the pile-on?

Every team has to have at least one every year. It's how it goes in sports. I'm sure Nashville, Anaheim, and NYI fans all have someone on the team they want gone. Fans aren't emotionally invested in players as people, because most fans don't know any of these guys personally, and we're not in the locker room, etc. It's what are you doing during the game that matters. Not a knock, just reality.

Huge game coming up Thursday. Flippin' huge.

Should be a good atmosphere. Should get some of that Kings/Canucks stuff going again. Insert Doughty picture here.

Because points and numbers are the only thing that matters to the kings and their fans. Especially in this forum.

True to an extent, but Stoll is really doing nothing points wise this year. He is tied with Regehr for the worst points/60 on the team. Defensive specialist or not, that's really bad for someone that gets as much ice time as he does. When you are a forward producing on the same level as Greene or RR, something is very wrong.

People are living in the past with Stoll as far as Defensive specialist goes(Same with the Richards people).

He is bar none the worst Defensive forward the Kings have over the last 20 games(other than Brown).

Stoll's last 20GP 1G 0A 1P -6.

Stoll was ok even good to start the year, but since Richards has been sent down, Stoll's game has fallen off a cliff(probably being exposed by match ups).

Stoll/Richards have proven, they can't handle what Sutter wants out of them (this season).

I rail on Greene a lot, and I stand by my statement that Greene is going to cost the Kings a playoff game. With that said, Greene at least doesn't go 15+ game stretches of total awful hockey like Stoll has just put in.

Check out that goal from Tanguay, where Stoll was involved too.

He was tangled up with #24 MA Cliche, but at least he got up and gave the assist to Tanguay. 1 second later, Stoll arrived. He cant skate anymore, that explains hooking and tripping penalties.

We are beating a dead horse here, but he's horrible, just horrible.

I have been posting about Stoll quite a bit on another board.

Let's go all the way back to before Christmas.

33 GP
3 Goals
0 Assists
Minus 5
13 minor penalties

I'm sorry, but if you are playing primarily with Williams and Brown, and cannot even manage to dish out one assist in 33 consecutive games as the 3C, you are done in my eyes. He is killing the overall offense. All players need to produce, I don't care what line you are playing on. Classic Stoll, receives a pass in our end, tries to skate out, is pressured and losses or dumps the puck anywhere put to one or our players. He just doesn't have the skill or vision to move the puck to scoring areas.

If you were playing shortstop, and were good defensively, if you got 3 hits in 33 games, would you be in the lineup? DS likes his veterans, but man, he is being way too patient with the season on the line.

Heck...0 assists is even more difficult than to dish out 2-3 assists in 33 consecutive games.

If you think about it, its a miracle that this is even possible.

I know someone in here was asking about how to watch NHL on a Roku box. I don't have a Roku but I do have a fire TV. I'm pretty sure the Roku box has an NHL Gamecenter app to stream the games. To bypass the blackout, you need a VPN. I actually don't even know what I just typed but I've read a lot about this and if you google it, you can find step by step instructions.

I've had the Fire TV for 6 months now. I have a bunch of apps on there that I sideloaded with an app on my Droid phone call the fire installer. It pushes apps from your phone onto the FTV. I've been streaming games on my FTV for months in HD quality (not through gamecenter) and I'll be cutting the cord after the NHL season is over. I should just do it now but my concern is there is an internet outage and I'm screwed from watching a Kings game live.

I have Amazon Prime so with the Fire TV I get all of the Prime shows for free. I had Hulu/Net Flix but with the Kodi app, both of those things are pointless so I canceled those. Between the OTA antenna and all the streaming content, there is no use for cable anymore.

That's why I give Williams a pass. He still skates well, even though the numbers aren't there.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I just got amazn fire stick (I think that is what it is called) and it is completely amazing. I have full hockey access. With everything else (Netflix Hudu + etc) I pay $48 u.s. a month. Is that the same as your fire tv?

2013-14 Trevor Lewis says hello. First 28 games zero points. First 38 games 0 goals and 1 assist. (2 goals in game 39)

I'm paying $0 a month. I ditched Netflix and hulu because a lot of that stuff can be streamed through Kodi for free. I didn't even know what that was until I had FTV and still not exactly sure how it works but I got it working with a little google research and some you tube videos showing you step by step instructions. I originally was paying for Hulu+/Netflix but quickly stopped using both. I pay for Amazon Prime yearly regardless of having Amazon Fire TV and that comes with a boatload of free "Prime" videos plus you can pay for new movies. I also have a subscription to hockeystreams.com and some guy there developed an app for chomecast and FTV to watch the streams through the player. That cost me $99 a year.

Fire Stick is the Amazon version of the Chromecast or Roku stick. Amazon Fire TV is akin to the Roku box or similar gadgets. I think the difference is the fire tv box has more storage for apps and compatible with more apps whereas Fire Stick is casting stuff from your smart phone or device. I have a chromecast too and that is how it works. Plus a FTV can have a wired internet connection.

EDIT: If you have a droid Phone, download Fire Installer from the Play Store. You can then sideload apps from your phone to the Fire Stick. Download Kodi from the kodi's website (google play won't have it) and then search you tube for adding "add ons" to the program.

Some good info here: http://sideloadfiretv.com/

does anyone know if any of this works in canada?

I am so lost when it comes to all of this stuff.
haha

I am too.. I'm not a tech guy at all but I'm cheap and I'm sick of the cable companies crap service and paying for a bunch of channels I don't watch. Cable is going away especially with companies like HBO bypassing them entirely. That is the future. The people who actually create content will bypass the middle man and you'll access their content directly.

Spend some time googling and reading about this stuff. I've been doing research for over a year. I bought a chromecast for $20 on sale. I figured it would be fun to mess with. I don't think you can go wrong with that. read about the differences between Roku/Chromecast/FTV. I like FTV because I was able to upload apps on there fairly easily. No "rooting" was needed. My GF can even use the box. Kodi is a little more challenging but there is step by step instructions for all this crap on you tube and plenty of info on blogs/message boards.

Thanks to your advice I am already saving $30 per month and have just cancelled my Direct TV (which was about $100 per month). I think I can get my bill including interwebs down to less than $40 per month before too long. I have just waisted over $1k on DTV this past year but will be saving from here on out. Thanks for the heads up.

What did you end up buying? Feel free to respond in the OT thread as that is probably where this belongs. I just saw someone ask about Roku in the GDT so I responded there.
