Kings who could be traded this summer

Grundstrom sure. Lizotte no.

Lizotte is an excellent 4th line center. If we move him, I don't see how we have a functioning 4th line.

You're not going to get anything of value for him anyways.
I agree but I also feel like his value has never been higher. Do you really think other teams aren’t going to love Lizotte’s motor and pay a premium for that? If you could get a 3rd for him would you do it?

I have a feeling besides Walker one or more of Bjornfot, Kayilev, Arvidsson will be moved this summer.
Arvidsson is the obviously the prime candidate simply for cap reasons. He’s got 1 year left and would interest a contender out East most definitely. We could either net picks or get something we need in a hockey trade, he’s the most movable forward.

That’s not to say any of the others you mentioned don’t move because there’s a case for it, but RV is most likely IMO.

the brain trust should have tried to get something for kaliyev yesterday. why try to wreck the guys career?

Kaliyev is a really important player for the Kings now and into the future. He's young, cost-controlled, and has already shown he can score in quantity. He's exactly what the Kings need more of, not what the Kings need to trade off. Absolute peak of stupidity to trade him off unless he's part of some package for an even more important piece.

Might as well get something for kaliyev as have him sit in the pressbox.
I am a huge kaliyev fan and i think his ultimate role will be a good indicator of the competence of the current brain trust. Thier track record thus far diesnt give me much hope for change and i would greatly appreciate watching kaliyev play for the kings or play somewhere else but play not watch.

Kings can only have so many RW's - Kempe, Iafallo, Vilardi, Kupari. Where does Fagemo slot in also?
Iafallo could slide back to LW, but really depends on who gets traded. Currently have the 5 you mention plus Fiala, Arvidsson, Moore, Kaliyev, Grundstrom (I assume Byfield will be back at center).

At least one of Iafallo/Arvidsson are likely gone, so assuming 1 is out and no other changes, I bet he rotates with Kupari/Grundstrom in the bottom 6

Yeah its unfortunate... But it seems Fagemo doesn't really have a future with the Kings at this point. The Kings should probably try to include him in a trade if possible - since he may be able to earn himself an NHL job somewhere else.

There's just too many players ahead of him on the depth charts.

Iafallo, Moore, Kempe, Fiala, Vilardi, Arvidsson, Kaliyev, Kupari, and Grundstrom are all clearly better options as of right now.

Even if the Kings trade a winger for cap reasons, he's still likely on the outside looking in and still isn't a great fit for the Kings bottom 6 in general.

You could also argue players like Laferriere and Chromiak fit more/less the same mold as Fagemo but have higher upside.

The sad thing is none of these extra players are extra gritty or can score mega goals.

There might be a spot for Fagemo on the 1st line if Kings move Byfield back to 3C. Also, last pre-season the Kings put Fagemo with Moore/Danault - basically auditioning him to replace Arvidsson.

Right now the Kings have 15 forwards - not including Fagemo.

Let's say they move Arvidsson...

Fagemo-Kopitar-Kempe
Moore-Danault-Iaffalo
Fiala-Byfield-Vilardi
Grunstrom/UFA-Lizotte-Kupari/Kayilev
JAD, McEwen

I would try and move Grundstrom and Lizotte and sign a really gritty 4th liner and have a 4th line of....

UFA/Kupari/Kayilev

If Kings replace Edler with a tough LHD like Dillon, Seeler, or Beaulieu then the Kings can afford to have a softer 4th line of Grundstrom, Lizotte, Kupari, Kayilev, etc. Otherwise, they need a big LW to replace the Lemieux spot.

The Wild need to clear cap space, I would look at Marcus Foligno. Maybe some sort of deal with Arvidsson, etc.

Of course the problem is that EVERY TEAM knows this and has Blake backed into a corner where they can get whatever they want for cheap or on waivers because he's poorly managed the cap and waiver eligibilty vs. development.

King's should bring in a forward, hopefully a center, but a wing could work too.
:skeptic:

Excited to see if Blake can top brining in Fiala last year.

The depth experiment failed. The one where you pick up a bunch of mid range players & clog things up 5v5. It failed partly because they started the year without a 3C & never added one. The goaltending has an unscheduled rapid disassembly. Then Todd the Turtle just runs his favorites & doesn't use the depth effectively. 4 lines is about running your opponent that double shifts 2 players, up & down the rink & wearing them out. Maybe Todd would distribute time differently if there were better options, but I doubt it.

King's have Iafallo, Arvidsson, Moore each making 4M. Move Two out & get a Nylander level player. E. Lindholm from Calgary would be nice. If you can't get a center just sandwich Byfield with two strong wings & hope he learns to defend quickly.

Out the door...Walker, Edler, Arvidsson/Iafallo, McEwan

Could be moved...Grundstrum, Lizotte, JAD, Durzi, Bjornfot

Slim chance to move...Roy, Kaliyev, Kupari, Petersen (should but can't)

This offseason should be just moving some cap space to sign Gavrikov and Vilardi to run it again. I would move Iafallo as he has more years on the books than Arvidsson. Next offseason only has Roy, Durzi, Byfield and Kaliyev due for raises (Roy the only major one). Kopitar, Arvidsson, Walker, Copley and McLellan come off the books. Let's just let the kids lead the team and worry about major changes next year. Kind of like what Dallas did this season.

Agreed. Depth is worthless if it's misused.

According to NHL Insiders Michael Russo and Eric Duhatschek of The Athletic, both Sean Durzi and Sean Walker could be dealt.

In addition, the Kings are close to finalizing a contract extension for pending unrestricted free agent D-man Vladislav Gavrikov, who was brought in at the trade deadline.

Los Angeles Kings Rumors: Two D-Men On Trade Block

If all three of these things happen, I will officially give Rob Blake a thumbs up for the summer.

Do all three of these moves or similar moves and insist that TM give the AK & QB at least 20-25 games in the top six even if they make mistakes , you learn from mistakes more , then we can say we are moving forward otherwise just start trading the kids for vets and reside in the black hole until they hire a better upper management group...............with QB it probably should be back at center like we started last season with fiala and vilardi

I have zero expectations with the current management group, because Blake is a dope. So even the smallest right moves I’ll praise.
