I don't care what we see from the line 1+2 vets and top pairing, honestly.

Most of the guys fighting for spots look great, but I think it's exceedingly clear at this point who is staying and who is going down. There is a clear separation.

Vilardi and Clarke are the two brightest lights in the "fighting for a spot" crew in my opinion

Sadly we are “ride or die” with Quick and Petersen for at least this year.

Screw goalie prospects, I think we should try to target a legitimate starter this off-season via trade or free agency. I’ve got a whole post of mad ideas I came up with instead of sleeping the other night.

Making a 3 x $5M mistake on a forward or defender isn't nearly as bad as on a goaltender. You can retain half and the player could still have value in a lesser role on another team. Petersen isn't even worth backup/journeyman money. Nobody is taking him on for $1M let alone $2.5M. He's not even a good backup. The Kings are f'd with that cap hit for 3 seasons. Ugh.

Even when Vilardi first came up, I don't think I've ever seen Vilardi this involved in the offense. I mean he is all over the ice tonight. This is different than last years pre-season when he was with Tkachev and Andersson. He's the one that driving the play and being assertive

About Vilardi, look how much more effective he is with gaining that step. It's obvious that his skating and strength have improved. He's not falling down at the end of every shift now.

Are we sleeping on Copley? Copley will get games in this season with the Kings
