You know me, I like to see proven successful paths for handling young players, and I am just struggling to come up with previous ones that worked out where a guy goes backwards after 105 NHL games.

We will see though. We know the Kings don't handle young players the way most teams do.

You know I'm usually with you on the Kings being the smartest guy in the room on development.

I just think this is one where it makes 100% sense.

I had more faith in Cloutier.
Petersen is trash anyone saying otherwise needs an instant ban

The process is there, results aren't. Should be 3-3. Doesn't really matter that it's 4-2 except from the focus standpoint and Cal being a complete dumpster fire.

I feel for Kupari, having a hell of a preseason and doing all the things right, but still can pass thru waivers. He'll undoubtedly be the first one back upon injuries.

At this point, Cal is a sunk asset. He is the car you bought without a warranty that ends up a total LEMON. You just have to accept the financial loss, and move forward with another car.

S*** happens. We are eating that contract one way or another.

I don't care what we see from the line 1+2 vets and top pairing, honestly.

Most of the guys fighting for spots look great, but I think it's exceedingly clear at this point who is staying and who is going down. There is a clear separation.

The thing that bothers me a lot too is that when goalies give up back breaking goals and the team doesn’t trust In him (who can blame the team for not trusting him). The team can just end up playing bad. Hockey is so momentum based and not having trust in your goalies will obviously lead to the team just playing worse because it’s in the back of their mind that no matter how well they play, the goalie will be giving goals up. Everyone who’s been in sports knows that if you have a shitty team mate in a big spot the boys just expect to lose for the most part.

Remember how well the team would rally when Quick was making big saves ? The goalie has such a big role in how the skaters play. Cal doesn’t just break the teams back, he pulverizes it.
