Bleh. Well there goes that... lol. Now they can send whoever haha.

Hell yeah! Quine! Our savior!

Slotting made everything in 12 13 and 14. If Clarke comes in and chews up some minutes and let’s Mikey and Toby to be linchpins our D is exponentially better. Spence reminds me of Amart a ton.

Can’t wait to see what PD and Moore look like this season.

We could really use a Ranford Reclamation project right about now.

I still think we have a trade coming all of this youth can’t play much longer with the waiver issues. Durzi looks like great trade bait with that contract and one of Vilardi and Kupari are likely to go. Doesn’t Florida have a shit ton of goaltenders and cap issues coming?

Is this 2012 all over again? A 2-1 league?
God I hope so!

Or they could just keep him in the NHL like most teams do with their top prospects

But this is the Kings

Fiala with a goal and an assist in his debut. Wouldn't say he was dominant, but he was certainly effective. Shootout goal was sick as well.

Clarke's the real deal. I genuinely think we need to find a way to have him up, at least for 9 games just to see how he handles it. He had a great rookie camp and he's starting pre-season very well.

From the kids Spence, Clarke and JAD was really good. Fiala is just as advertised dude is a gamer and adds so much more skill. Good bye Athanasiou hello Fiala. Me likes this 22 better than last years for sure. Can't believe dude is only 26 years old. Beer League Goalie was fantastic coming in for Petersen. LOL. Hope Cal is okay.

Nice to have a top 10 pick *exceed* expectations eh? It seems a waste to have him spend another year in the O.

Am I wrong that I have Spence > Durzi, Walker, Bjornfot, Roy....actually above pretty much everyone accept Drew.
Clarke is our best young D but I might just have to agree with you with all the others. Tobie might just be the odd man out.

I think Clarke has the highest ceiling of all of our lottery prospects. I still believe Turc and Byfield will be good players, but Clarke seems to have that it factor.

Oh definitely agreed. I just meant guys I know will be with the big club to start the year.

I mean Clarke probably should be but we all know the Kings!

thought Vilardi looked really good tonight -- no points, but was making things happen.

Problem is, he looked really good in pre-season last year as well. He just needs someone on his line that has equal skill or more to get him going.

Yup, it factor is the perfect description.

Its nice to actually be able to realize how good a young player is going to be right away instead of making excuses why they aren't. It's been 14 years since we had a player like that on the Kings, I think many of the fans have forgotten, or shit many may not be old enough to have been a fan in 2008. Clarke is great, and take nothing away from him, but this is how a good #7 pick from the CHL is supposed to look in their D+2, it's not supposed to take as long as it's taken other Kings picks! Now let's just see if the Kings can find it in them to put a player in the NHL without going through their beloved AHL affiliate (which thankfully isn't an option here). According to one of the heads of the development team only McDavid caliber players go to the NHL as teenagers and without AHL seasoning, so we will see, hopefully Muzz isn't consulted.

I also don't know if QB doesn't have the it factor. QB dealt with a very unusual development path that literally no other prospect of his caliber has ever gone through. I am curious to see how he looks like this year and if he develops some swagger if he is able to play better. He not only had to adjust to the on-ice aspect of the NHL last year during a playoff race but also all the other stuff about being an NHL player, including breaking into a very veteran heavy roster.

Was that Emerson? I hope not, I always kind of liked him. It's really not accurate, unless the McDavid tier has dropped significantly. Sillinger, Beniers, Stutzle, Raymond, Drysdale, Lundell, Jarvis and Mercer have all excelled in the NHL and that is just in the past two drafts.

Yeah, QB has had an interesting development path and I do still think he is going to be a good player, but I just haven't seen anything that screamed star player to me. I hope I am wrong because I think he is the most crucial prospect, but I just haven't seen it yet.

Do you ever give it a rest?

If Vilardi can continue that pace of play (and frankly, raw foot speed), he might deserve a shot next to Moore and Danault as well.

Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Vilardi
Iafallo - Byfield - Kaliyev
Lemieux - Lizotte - Grundstrom

Anderson - Doughty
Roy - Clarke
Bjornfot - Spence

Where does Durzi play? Maybe we trade him?

That’s my lineup at the moment from what I’ve seen, with maybe Fagemo in at RW2. It’s still VERY are to draw conclusions but I completely agree that GV seems to have taken a step with his skating.

Clarke? Well right now he has to be on the opening night roster.

Goaltending I’m not worried about. They can pick up a better backup if Petersen is injured long term via free agency or a trade. The price at this stage is usually ok. If they want to trade they easily have the assets. Clarke’s play may mean they have another RHD to move anyway. Let’s see. I thought Petersen looked ok though, zero chance on the goal and his technique looked tighter.
