I've been saying for awhile that Blake has been cavalier towards the goaltending position.

Quick turns 37 this season and hasn't played more than 46 games in a season in almost 5 years. Petersen has never played more than 37 and hasn't shown anything.

There's nothing in the system after that. One injury and we're kind of screwed

On the positive side, the goal position is so bad it won't be difficult to find an upgrade. (Quick excluded of course)

(2) penalties on Kempe
(2) penalties on Fiala

The goaltending position in general is a total cluster .. not just from a depth perspective, but from value for salary committed - prob worst in league.

For anyone of you's who isn't watching this on the tube tonight.

Wallstedt, Askarov, etc. we've had our chances to draft a top tier goalie.

Yannetti already said on a podcast they tried to move up to take Wallstedt but didn't have enough enticing assets to pull it off. At the same time Minnesota zeroed in on him and traded up to get him.

Luc is just following his buddy Shanny in ignoring the goaltending position as president of hockey ops, you think they'd remember how important the dominator was in their cup win with the Wings.

I can't tell if Rempal has been really active this game or if I am just noticing every time I hear his name because he is a former prospect

Standouts for me (turned the game on about halfway through):

Clarke and Spence. These dudes both look like they belong on the opening night roster.

Vilardi. Much faster and much for physical tonight than in any previous viewing.

Fiala. He’s not a superstar, but he’s right in that next tier.

And honestly, Copley looks pretty good right now too.
