Kings Re-Sign Brayden McNabb and Andy Andreoff

He'll more than likely be playing alongside Jarett Stoll as he usually tends to do. Either a support scoring role if they use Justin Williams like in the playoffs, or a shutdown unit if they use Trevor Lewis like usual.

Put it this way, I think Sutter would scratch Kyle Clifford, Jordan Nolan, and Trevor Lewis before he even started thinking about Dwight King. It's played out that way many times in the past and I don't see that changing at all.

If he's playing on the 3LW, then where does TT play, 4RW???

Why does Richards have to be the 2nd C? He could be 3rd. But here's a stab at the scenario you are asking for (and we saw this in the playoffs, like in OT in Game 5):

Gaborik-Kopitar-Brown
Pearson-Richards-Carter
King-Stoll-Williams
Clifford-Lewis-Toffoli

However, I think to start the season we'll see Carter centering Pearson and Toffoli, Richards up with King and Williams, and Stoll between Clifford and Lewis.

Well, my whole point was with Richards as our 2C. So, if you're convinced he won't be our 2C, then there's no point in the discussion.

This is why I say with Richards as our 2C, King will be a 4LW or a HS, because there's no way TT should be our 4RW.

We'll let the coaches figure that out in camp, but I dont see them moving Carter back to wing.

Well, we could always say "let the coaches figure that out", but then why would there be a need for HF, if everything is to let the coaches figure things out?

To me, the top 9 with Richards as our 2C is a no-brainer:

Gabby-Kopi-Toffoli
Pearson-Richards-Carter
Brown-Stoll-Williams

I know some will question TT as our 1RW, but is 4RW a better option?

Like I said, King is either a 4LW or a HS with Richards as our 2C.

Again, why does Richards have to be the 2C? Why can't they have 1A (Kopitar), 1B (Carter), 2 (Richards) and 3 (Stoll)?

I'm not saying they can't. However, for this discussion, I'm going with the premise that Richards will be a 2C. And if so, where does King belong in the lineup? Believe me, I understand that there's a chance that Richards may be our 3C. It's just my opinion that Sutter will give him every chance to regain his 2C back.

Gaborik Kopitar Brown - 18+ minutes a night
Pearson Carter Toffoli - 16 minutes a night (Carter a bit more, Toffoli and Pearson maybe a bit less)
King Richards Williams -14 minutes a night (King less, Richards and Williams more)
Clifford Stoll Lewis - 12 minutes a night (Clifford and Lewis less, Stoll more)

Seems pretty straightforward to me.

King is the lone RFA standing.

It's getting harder and harder to see how they can keep King. They only have $1.55 mill. left on the cap. Now, if Schultz is sent down, that goes up to $2.4 mill., but I don't see them risking sending Andreoff through waivers, so take $550,000 off the cap and they're down to $1.85 mill. in cap space. I can't see Dean spending right to the cap. I'm sure he'll want something left over for the possibility of a deadline deal.

I know I'll get grilled for this, but I sincerely hope Dwight King and Dean Lombardi would have a talk about "taking a paycut for rings", which actually worked with the Miami Heat of all teams.

There, I said it and given the results with the Heat, it's worth it. :naughty:

The Heat won 2 rings in 4 years. The Kings just won 2 in 3 years.

Moving Richards' solves a lot of problems, frees up cap space, and gives Andreoff a shot on the 4th line with Clifford and Lewis. Nolan can rotate in for Clifford or Andreoff (move Lewis to center).

If the Kings keep the same line-up that won us the Cup, looks like Richards' is penciled for #4 center duty.

The Kings aren't moving Richards. Replacing Clifford or Andreoff or Nolan or Lewis for Richards is 4-5 steps backwards.

Nope, he took Lombardi to arbitration. He needs to be shipped to Siberia. Yep, EDM!

"How did Dwight most recently perform for the team?"

I guarantee you this is the #1 question will be asked and cue the stat guys! Also, before arbitration, did Dwight ask for a certain amount? Even the respective agents of Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter offered the Yankees discounted offers, but the Yankees said "NO"; guess how it ended up.

Going back on topic, I look forward into seeing Brayden and Andreoff on opening night, in action.
