Kings Re-Sign Brayden McNabb and Andy Andreoff

It's getting harder and harder to see how they can keep King. They only have $1.55 mill. left on the cap. Now, if Schultz is sent down, that goes up to $2.4 mill., but I don't see them risking sending Andreoff through waivers, so take $550,000 off the cap and they're down to $1.85 mill. in cap space. I can't see Dean spending right to the cap. I'm sure he'll want something left over for the possibility of a deadline deal.

I know I'll be unpopular for saying this, but I can see Andy Andy getting waived.

The Kings have waived good players before if they didn't earn a spot on the team (Hickey) I don't see why they wouldn't here as well. Also Andreoff is a nice player, but waiving him in the middle of training camp when every other team has roster issues and players of their own to waive would be the best time to try to sneak him through if he's not ready yet. It really wouldn't shock me in the least if LA waived him and he went through unclaimed. The number of players claimed during training camp/pre-season compared to the number that are waived is very low.

Lombardi can also start cracking on extension negotiations with Williams, Stoll, Martinez (all 2015 UFAs) and Muzzin (RFA). Other RFAs in 2015 include Toffoli, Pearson, Clifford, Nolan, Jones, Shore, Dowd, Weal, Bodnarchuk and LoVerde.

Lot of work ahead for Deano.

Well damn. Losing Mitchell was hard, next summer could potentially be even tougher. :help:

I only see Muzzin and Williams as potentially tough resigns, the rest I'm ok with losing if we have to (Martinez and Stoll) or see them resigning fairly easily, barring Toffoli having some massive breakout year.

That's a little misleading, barring a lot of injuries the bold won't see NHL, so it will just be a matter of giving them a QO and they re-sign for a similar number. See Berube, Andreoff and to a lesser extent McNabb, because he has some NHL experience.

I wouldn't be so sure, some of those guys are going to want to see the NHL and/or make some money, so they'll want to either head to a different org where they aren't buried on the depth chart or head for Europe where they can see the world and get playing time while making much more money. It's not as simple as throwing a QO at the bubble guys, especially Shore, Weal, and Bodnarchuk, who will likely get at least a few NHL games somewhere before heading for Euroland.

Edit: though I agree those obviously aren't as pressing as the actual full-time NHLers and extended roster.

You REALLY think Shore won't make the NHL? Of every prospect in the Kings organization, I'm the most sure that he'll make it. Over everyone else. Every. One. And Dowd is high up too.

If Stoll doesn't chase the money their still won't be a center spot for him. I'm not saying those guys won't ever make it, we just know Darryl doesn't hand roster spots to young guys out of camp.

I think he meant won't see the NHL next year, meaning him being left in Manchester all year won't have an impact on trying to negotiate a contract extension. Likely it'll be a one or two year deal around the level of his qualifying offer.

I think we might see Regehr moved if McNabb can step in. Kings could then call up Schultz as the #7 guy.

Or they move Nolan for a draft pick. I just don't see Nolan, Andreoff and Regehr sitting...and it looks like that is how things are shaping up.

How do you see Regehr sitting?

The Mayor posted a story saying that the plan maybe to periodically play McNabb, although nowhere was it said that Regehr would sit, it's just assumed because he says "second pair". Any given night they could sit Greene and move Regehr down just as easily.

Sitting Greene would make sense since that happened this year. Between injuries and seeing Greene and possibly Martinez in the pressbox on occassion is how LA will roll seven D, not sitting any of Regehr, Doughty, Voynov or Muzzin. Only reason Martinez sits even is because Sutter seems to think he is a puppy killer or something. Man he can't give that guy a break.

I haven;t read anything from the Mayor in a while. I unfriended him on Facebook for repeatedly posting the same article ICYMI!!!

I didn't miss **** like this
As mentioned when we first broke that story, the Kings view him as the best defenseman not playing in the NHL over the past two seasons.

MayorsManor had him listed 8th in our most recent rankings of the Kings Top 10 prosects (linked here) and we expect him to make the opening night roster this coming season.

I want a recall election for the Mayor.

Mayor Garcetti>>>>>>>>>>>John Hoven

And this also makes he appreciate Secret agent Gann more. He reports the same stuff, better IMO, without the having to suck his own Richard

I think you're overlooking something here...

According to our sources within the team, McNabb will be given every opportunity to earn a spot playing alongside Slava Voynov coming out of training camp

So the management is hoping for:

Doughty-Muzzin
Voynov-McNabb
Greene/Amart/Regher
