It's getting harder and harder to see how they can keep King. They only have $1.55 mill. left on the cap. Now, if Schultz is sent down, that goes up to $2.4 mill., but I don't see them risking sending Andreoff through waivers, so take $550,000 off the cap and they're down to $1.85 mill. in cap space. I can't see Dean spending right to the cap. I'm sure he'll want something left over for the possibility of a deadline deal.
Lombardi can also start cracking on extension negotiations with Williams, Stoll, Martinez (all 2015 UFAs) and Muzzin (RFA). Other RFAs in 2015 include Toffoli, Pearson, Clifford, Nolan, Jones, Shore, Dowd, Weal, Bodnarchuk and LoVerde.
Lot of work ahead for Deano.

That's a little misleading, barring a lot of injuries the bold won't see NHL, so it will just be a matter of giving them a QO and they re-sign for a similar number. See Berube, Andreoff and to a lesser extent McNabb, because he has some NHL experience.

You REALLY think Shore won't make the NHL? Of every prospect in the Kings organization, I'm the most sure that he'll make it. Over everyone else. Every. One. And Dowd is high up too.
Trade Richards! If Stoll doesn't chase the money their still won't be a center spot for him. I'm not saying those guys won't ever make it, we just know Darryl doesn't hand roster spots to young guys out of camp.

I think he meant won't see the NHL next year, meaning him being left in Manchester all year won't have an impact on trying to negotiate a contract extension. Likely it'll be a one or two year deal around the level of his qualifying offer.
I think we might see Regehr moved if McNabb can step in. Kings could then call up Schultz as the #7 guy.
Or they move Nolan for a draft pick. I just don't see Nolan, Andreoff and Regehr sitting...and it looks like that is how things are shaping up.
How do you see Regehr sitting?
The Mayor posted a story saying that the plan maybe to periodically play McNabb, although nowhere was it said that Regehr would sit, it's just assumed because he says "second pair". Any given night they could sit Greene and move Regehr down just as easily.

I haven;t read anything from the Mayor in a while. I unfriended him on Facebook for repeatedly posting the same article ICYMI!!!The Mayor posted a story saying that the plan maybe to periodically play McNabb, although nowhere was it said that Regehr would sit, it's just assumed because he says "second pair". As mentioned when we first broke that story, the Kings view him as the best defenseman not playing in the NHL over the past two seasons.
MayorsManor had him listed 8th in our most recent rankings of the Kings Top 10 prosects (linked here) and we expect him to make the opening night roster this coming season.

According to our sources within the team, McNabb will be given every opportunity to earn a spot playing alongside Slava Voynov coming out of training camp
I think you're overlooking something here...
So the management is hoping for:
Doughty-Muzzin
Voynov-McNabb
Greene/Amart/Regher
That proves my point, Regehr doesn't have to sit, it could just as easily be Greene on a given night.
I personally think both Greene and Regehr will be in the opening night lineup, with McNabb stepping in because of injury or poor performance.
