Sutter said he benched Brown. I guess so, he was mostly disappeared from what I remember.

4th line got extra minutes, but I am with the rest of you; have no idea why I am looking at the 4th line with 3 minutes to go in the game. It's the only thing I disagree with Sutter with.

Agreed, it was really stupid of him.

Also I have to say, I'm not impressed by the leafs they aren't a playoffs team. They play full on offense. They wouldn't last in a series with the Kings. Their team is too flawed.

Where did JB go for sushi? Katsuya Hollywood? Spent a bucket load of money there once but it all went out the other end a few hours later! Never going back!

They play in the east. They have just as good of a chance as us of making it to the cup series.

Especially with 2 solid goaltenders in Bernier and Reimer.

Eh, you really think they can out O pitt? Or who against Boston? No chance. Toronto has played prob its 2 best games this year against the kings. The defense is just too crappy to contend.

There most certainly is a chance they can beat those teams. Toronto was thisclose to beating Boston last year had they not choked. I certainly wouldn't favour them against those teams, but I think they could possibly beat them. More so Pittsburgh as they're questionable defensively in the playoffs year after year, but they can also outscore their problems...

I think he benched the entire line. I only remember seeing Stoll out for 1 faceoff once during the final two minutes, and he lost it. Our faceoffs really blew tonight during important parts of this game.

Just one of those nights. Kopi can't finish, Reimer and Bernier make Sportscenter, and Quick has his first less-than-superhuman game since before the break. Sucks that it is vs TO and now we have to deal with smugness (I'm leaving Staples right now and you'd think that was a SC game win), but it is what it is.

Commence puking.

If you thought that was bad, then let me tell you I sat beside two Maple Leafs fans who even broke a Jim Fox bobblehead on purpose!

Section 209, Row 12.

Remember how Matt Greene is a healthy scratch, coming into this game? So yeah...

Was there any panda in the GDT?

I saw your team in the purples and it got me thinking. I really like the crown logo for your guys. Wounder how it would look as your primary even on blacks.

Alright I will leave now since I know this isn't my place.

Don't worry, dustin brown isn't around you can feel safe.

That would actually be pretty Sexy to have the purple crown over the the LA logo.

Went to bed early last night. Lame to wake up to the end of the win streak. Should've figured though since when they won that first game, I got that Doughty mini locker and he is number 8. If only he had a higher number :/

You are more than welcome here, as long as you don't bash our team.

As to your post, I think the crown would look awesome on black. I much prefer that then the stupid and unimaginative "LA home plate" logo. Of course, I am biased; I grew up with that crown logo.

The Kings were sloppy in Calgary, but did enough to win. The Leafs are obviously a better team than the Flames, and when the Kings got sloppy again, they didn't do enough to win.

Normal ebb and flow of a season, end of a road trip/start of a home stand, can't win them all, a bounce here and there, looking ahead to Anaheim and Phoenix, stuck in 3rd place, a better goalie/team performance by the other side, whatever it was, a loss is a loss. The Kings don't need to start a losing streak now, so, just tighten up the ship.

Big game tomorrow night. Maybe a bigger game on Monday. Should be fun.

Kings lost because they didn't play well. 8 wins in a row they were due.
Win Saturday and We will forget this game.

I pushed Jon Rosen for an answer on the Brown benching; however, this is the best he could come up with...I actually thought there might be something more to the "that line is tired" explanation from Sutter but I really didn't get it from Rosen:

Oh well. It will be interesting to see the number of minutes Brown gets against Anaheim. I doubt if Brown has been scratched since he's been a captain, and it may be too harsh to do it now during a stretch run, but maybe it would be the best tonic to get him off the schnide.

Lot of people saying Kopitar should have buried those chances. I would be very happy if he keeps getting those chances as they will go in. Bernier stopped him with his toe, and Reimer robed him twice. Hell if that were Quick making those saves we wouldn't say the opposing player should have had them, we would be praising Quick. So let's give a little credit to their two goalies.
The shorthanded goal pissed me off cause every king seemed to stop on the play. It seemed like they thought the puck went out of play or something. Raymond had a hell of as shot on a 2 on 1. I do not blame Quick on that one. The gunner goal he should have had.
Would rather loose to the buds than the ducks. Would have been nice to see at leas ta loser point out of a 2 goal lead.

I felt like the cermony for Fox was a little short and didn't do quite enough to honor such a big figure for the Kings.

Also funny about bernier, reminds me of a game I was in, a friend/line mate had a case of the bubble guts and couldn't hold it. For whatever reason he decided to stay in the game and not tell anyone, on the bench everyone kept asking what that smell was.

Anyway, good for Gaborik on his first goal, he brings much needed speed on this team.

No way that happens. Toronto is not a contender.

Why not? Have you not looked at the east? Apart from the Bruins and Penguins its wide open, Leafs have already proven they are capable of hanging with the Bruins in a 7 game series, Toronto is easily the 3rd best team in the east, they also tend to play well and match up well with the Penguins as both play a fast tempo style of hockey.

Okay, I get why you're supposed to block shots, but maybe it's better if Kopitar just lets Quick make the save on the Leafs' second goal? Easy save for Quick if Kopitar doesn't tip it. After it goes in you can see the body language on Quick, like, "Why did you do that, Kopi?"

On the ice, if you have confidence in your goalie to make a routine save, I say you just get your stick out of the way. I mean if you're five feet away and can get stick on puck, great. If you're fifteen feet away and the best you can hope for is to deflect the shot into the corner, maybe you just let it go.
