Kings Lose to the Leafs 3-2 Meh.

I agree the pp was bad. They couldn't win a faceoff to save their lives on more than a few pp tonight, especially after the second goal.
 
I think Sutter knows the Kings are locked into 3 in the Pacific and the Kings are going very conservative when it comes to double shifting and things like that. The Kings have zero chance of catching Anaheim or SJ and zero chance of getting caught by Phoenix.

If this were a playoff game you would not be seeing Clifford-Stoll-Nolan with 3 minutes left and then Clifford (3 goals in 56 games) out there as the extra attacker.

I would also hope that in a bigger game that DS would be quicker to move Carter up with Kopitar and Gaborik. Toffoli and Richards just had no legs tonight, and while it sucks to demote Jdub while he is playing so great, if Sutter has a chance to load up 12-11-77 and double shift them in games we are down in the 3rd he has to do it, that line is going to be downright terrifying to match-up against.

in all honesty - can we play you guys more often? We played our best game of the season in December [and you won], and we were playing really well against you guys again tonight. :) Good luck y'all! :)

Remaining games are meaningless. I want the kings to pound the ducks on Saturday then hope to god sutter starts resting or cutting the ice time of the top players by a lot.

On a side note kings just couldn't finish tonight. Should have had at least 6 goals if anyone can lift the damn puck. Toronto is in trouble with that D
 
This loss hurts more than usual. I don't call out Kopi often, but man that last goal was brutal. He scored on a difficult shot and couldn't put away 2 sitters. He's got to put those away. Also gotta give credit where credit is due. Reimer played well tonight.

The goods news is that Gaborik had his first goal tonight. Hopefully its the first of many.

Yup. Doughty was not using his teammates, puckhoging, and at the end couldn't even retrieve the puck from the boards. He was awful.

Problem with going with 12-11-77 is if they don't get it done and have to change you're left with who to come out after them? 73-10-14? The 1 goal since infinity line?

Thant can be dangerous. You don;t want the team to start playing crap hockey heading into the playoffs.

All in all it was bound to happen, and hat's off to Reimer. He came in in relief and played outstanding. Just means it's time to start a new winning streak on Saturday.

I'm guessing it's from going out with the guys last night. He said he was going to have dinner (probably sushi) with some of the LA guys on Wed night. It must be incredibly difficult having the runs when you're a goalie with all that equipment . No late nighty booty calls for him tonight.
 
Quick had a sub-par night
Kopi missed like three open nets
Doughty was like a chicken with his head cut off

Those are our three cornerstones, we won't win many games in which they all play like that

Oh well, on to Saturday where we hopefully beat the Ducks

Maybe that's what Brown has had all season? ;) Hopefully he can turn things around in time for the playoffs, such a key component as his style of play is perfect for playoff hockey.

And if you're wondering if I'm trolling or not, I'm not. I actually like the Kings. Use to watch them quite a bit a few years back - really need to start doing that again.
