Kings Lose 2-3 to Ducks in OT; Brown Lets Perry Live

As far as classless goes, there are idiots everywhere. People who look for trouble usually find it. Alcohol increases the stupidity in some people.

I can't answer all of you individually. The point was more to give a glimpse on how Ducks fans view the subject sans the vitriol that usually distorts the conversation.

Everbody that's weighed in has had their personal experiences and is obviously biased because of those experiences. For me personally I have had just as many bad arena experiences with Kings fans as anyone else. That doesn't mean all kings fans are bad. All it means are bad experiences aren't unique and shouldn't be treated as such. It's very much gone both ways.

The difference is that our fan base is more realistic than yours.

We realize that not all Ducks fans are thugs or Pejorative Slurs that don't know the game, but a Kings fan reading your board gets the impression that Ducks fans seriously believe that a bus of prisoners is given a furlough and are handed Kings jerseys on the way in to the Honda Center.

I missed a lot of the conversation, just gong back over the previous page or so now, but I can appreciate this.

My original point was that if we're always going to have the conversation, it needs to go both ways as you note at the end.

I've personally had more issues at Honda Center than any other arena, and I've been to a few other arenas more than Honda Center. That obviously doesn't mean Ducks fans are worse than Sharks, Stars, or Colorado fans in that regard; those are my experiences alone and they're anecdotal. What I take issue with is the game entertainment staff basically inciting crap and staff tacitly encouraging it by turning a blind eye, because that's the whole organization, not a few fans.

As you say this has likely happened on the other side as well and it doesn't make it right--but it does make it so that when we have the conversation about lolghetto Kings fans, it's quickly becoming a glass houses thing. I'm not thin skinned, I can take a few jokes, and I can even take beers thrown my way when my toddler isn't with me; you'll just have to take my word for it that last night was over the top and I can understand why it may not seem that way.

I was gonna say something verbose about quickly in my eyes being already here.
But I'm just gonna drop it to that ^. I do hope we and our Neighboring fans can go back to smiting the real enemy...Guppies. :D

The funny part is, I'm one of the people that actually doesn't hate the Ducks...not unless we're playing them head-to-head obviously :P A lot of the hate is wasted on me

I don't think anyone thinks that all of one fan base is full of undesirables. Those of us who live in OC and play hockey have friends from both fan bases. Two of my best friends are kings fans and although I will bust their balls as often as possible, anything other than friendly joking over sports teams is incredibly stupid, and that goes for people you know or people you don't know.

I will say that when I had season tickets, the games I knew were going to be the most annoying due to opposing fans were games against the wings and against the kings. That doesn't mean that all wings fans or kings fans are annoying, just that there are more of them there and maybe a higher percentage of annoying people. Also, I've been to three ducks-kings games at staples and had no issues whatsoever. Unfortunately every fan base is going to have morons and I doubt that there is a higher percentage of them in either the kings or ducks fan base. The fact is though that the kings fan base is bigger (especially after the last 3 years) and the people that jump on the bandwagon are normally the biggest douches of all so it might seem worse to your average duck fan.

For what it's worth, I've been to a few Kings-Ducks games at the pond and have never had a negative experience. I did have a run-in with a couple Shark fans at the outdoor game, however.

Been wearing my Kings jersey at Ponda for years and never had any issues. Just the occasional Kings suck etc. But just YouTube "Ducks fans fight over stick" to see them in action :sarcasm:

I think it's a little childish that Ducks fans (on their board mind you) are saying that it's a good thing that so many Kings fans had bad experiences at the game last night.

I've never seen any of us wish a bad experience on an opposing fan in Staples, but bygones will be bygones.

That board is a bigger dumpster fire than Amanda Bynes last five years of existence.

It's amazing how far an organization will go to make the away fans feel inferior. The antics from last night as well as all those years when the PA would play fans cheering to drown out the Kings fans. I was at a game and there was a break for a tv timeout and the guy forgot to turn it off and all you heard was fans cheering. Everyone , including the players noticed it.

What else do you expect from a "fan base" that didn't even have enough class and respect to stay behind and salute Selänne on his last game? The same "fan base" who's car flags, jerseys and hats completely vanished after being bounced in the 2nd round. The same "fan base" that can't even fill up their own barn for a heated rivalry game. Par for the course

I was honestly surprised to see it on here though, most Duck fans on HF seem to be pretty decent. They have always been cool when I go over there to talk Angels with them.

I see it more as a jealousy thing to be honest. The two Cups, the embarrassing game 7 last year, and the fact that they can't even sell out their arena for their biggest rivalry without half of it being Kings fans while the Kings have a 3+ year sellout streak going at Staples.

I understand disliking your rivals, but it just seems petty to wish a bad experience on them in your arena. I would be extremely embarrassed as a Kings fan if a Duck fan came in here and said another Kings fan threw a beer at his toddler. I would never laugh at that and say "good, hopefully it keeps those Duck fans away from Staples"

I have never been to a game at the Ponda and also understand that Kings fans will start **** too, so I'm trying to be unbiased as I can. It just seems petty to have that attitude.

I don't remember any Kings fans acting like that in 2007 or 2008 when the Ducks won and were coming off the Cup.

Exactly. Perfectly said. Especially the bolded part

And besides, Ducks and Kings fans alike can probably both agree that there's nothing worse than Canucks fans.

(Find agreement and build from there. This is Relationships 101, folks.)

Well except for Rangers fans. Let's keep it Western Conference.

Flyer fans trump all. Some are so delusional as to believe that "winning" :sarcasm: the Richards trade with the Kings was far more important than winning a Cup, much less two.
