Kings Lose 2-3 to Ducks in OT; Brown Lets Perry Live

The issue is that it has happened countless times the other way around in our own arena over the years. In the last game alone between the two there were multiple fights started by kings fans in the building.
or Ducks fans fighting other Ducks fans (video is not labeled correctly, these are two Ducks fans)

I am also willing to bet that all of the fights were not started by Kings fans nor were you there to personally witness what started each fight

Gotta love Ducks fans, too; when Bailey pours popcorn on a fake fan, we're a classless organization, staples is the ghetto, la fans are horrible. When Ducks game entertainment goes around quizzing fans in the arena for their worst Kings fan experience, asks repeatedly how stupid kings fans are on the jumbo tron, and security does nothing when a beer is thrown at my 2 year old daughter, I'm a little ***** and should just toughen up and it's about time honda is a hostile environment. The hypocrisy is strong.

You wear an opposing jersey in another team's arena I think you can fairly expect some ribbing and roll with it, but they frankly embarrassed themselves last night, and all it does is rile up the natives. For an arena sooooo concerned with the invading guests, you'd think they'd smarten up.

Edit: should just say I'm a good guest, too. Quiet, don't even jump out of my seat when we score, don't go seeking trouble because of the above and i know it's annoying when it happens to us.

What absolute horse ****. I would complain loudly to Honda Center management; if they get enough complaints, maybe they will do something.

Better yet, complain to the media. I'm sure the two reporters at the L.A. Times (Helene Elliot and Lisa Dillman) would be very interested to know of your experience.

To me, it sounds like this is a concerted campaign to sway L.A. Kings fans away from Kings games at Honda Center. They know it looks awful when the opposing team scores and a large contingency of the fans jump up in unison.

Then again, since this happens every Ducks game, I am wondering if the POS PR guy for the Ducks is going to ask fans every game what is their worst Red Wings fan experience, worst Canadiens fan experience, worst Maple Leafs fan experience, etc. You get the idea.

Does that make it right? No, absolutely not. It should never happen to anyone. Still, the Honda center is on one hand mocked for its lax atmosphere while on the other hand much more road fan friendly.

The kings arena is much more intense while not as road friendly. That's perfectly good and fine, but the history of fan interactions gone bad is much more extensive there than in Anaheim. That is just the con of a more invested, rooted fan base.

So yeah, it is grating to here such complaints about an arena experience that has been so often tilted the other way. That said, it really is too bad some obnoxious idiots had to even take it there, especially with a kid around. That's never ok.

Pretty much untrue. There are hardly any Ducks fans at Kings games. I know, because I attend them all. If you are a drunk, belligerent, POS Kings fan looking for a Ducks fan to fight, it is likely you will pass out before finding one.

This has the potential to go bad quickly.

That's fine if you disagree, you've had your experiences and I've had mine, I figured I'd give a reasonable account of the other side without devolving into what is generally does.

That historically ducks fans have been treated with more hostility in LA than kings fans in Anaheim. Is that really a debate?
I was question WTF you were trying to say.

"So yeah, it is grating to here such complaints about an arena experience that has been so often tilted the other way."
Makes zero grammatical sense.

Were you trying to say "so yeah, it is harsh and unpleasant to my present location such complaints about an arena experience that has been so often tilted the other way"

I will debate it. The percentage of bad thug Ducks fans is just as as high as the Kings fan base. It just happens that there are exponentially less Ducks fans. I have personally seen Ducks fans do way worse at Staples than I have seen Kings fans do at the Pond. In my near 30 years as a Kings fan, I have never seen a male Kings fan throw a drink at an opposing fan, but I have seen more than one male Ducks fan do it to a female Kings fan.
I have also heard more racial slurs come out of Ducks fans mouths at Staples Center and the forum than any other fan base.

Living in South OC, I also have a ton of run ins with Ducks fans.
About 25% of them are actual hockey fans that want to talk hockey. They are really good people, we leave friends and end with a "see you in the playoffs" joke and it is more than amicable.
About 75% of them want to make some idiotic comment about how I am rooting for the wrong team or something similar. They usually end pretty quickly when I tell them that I was a fan of the Kings since before the Ducks existed and that I like my team. About 25% of the time they can't have a reasonable discussion and they insult me or my wife, or try to start of fight because my wit is way quicker than the average bear's

Quite honestly, I've been to football games and had on an opposing team's jersey and felt more safe then wearing a hat flanked by my GF and her brother in Duck gear at this last game.

And here i was gonna go to the DuckCoyote game earlier this year in my kings gear to be an ass, but she might have saved my life by asking me not to, based on this experience.

So every fight last Ducks home game was started by Kings fans? You have proof of this? I'd like to see it.

Also, Staples has never gone to the length that the Honda center did to make sure opposing fans have an awful experience. Never.

Finally, we never have that many Ducks fans at Staples as you do Kings fans at Honda. We have a bigger fanbase, that's all. I've been to a ton of games and have never seen it get ugly from our end. I've seen Boston fans turn on each other based on where they live because none of our fans would engage with them. I've seen some Philly fans get nasty too. I sit in the PR section, so maybe that's why I haven't seen any of this hatred you keep talking about. But there are always fans of other teams around me, so there was ample opportunity to get ugly.

Yet you guys whine about streamers after playoff wins. And now Honda is nastily going after Kings fans because they don't have a big enough fanbase to sell out their own games. That's about as low as you can get.

Oh, I'm ready, believe me. You ever had a beer thrown (or anything, for that matter) at your toddler son or daughter?

Perhaps we should take it as a complement? Are we (Kings fans) that much inside these guys heads that they feel the need to make such efforts? All in all, it was pretty sad, and a few of the Ducks fans around me were shaking their heads and admitted how embarrassing those were.

Taking the other side just for one minute...the Kings did an incredibly in-poor-taste and just-plain-not-funny skit of chopping up a cooked duck in the first intermission of game 3 last season.

I thought it was stupid as well. It did not go over well, and the 2-0 deficit after the first period made it seem even worse, if that was possible.

So there's that.

Piss on The Anaheim Puddle.

I'll go, wear my Kings jersey, cheer loudly when the Kings score, and chant "This is our house!!", with friends on the way out after a Kings' victory.

Get a life people, those are just words, and we are watching a game.

You know it's bad when the person on the mic is apologizing for what is written. That actually happened last night...i'm not sure but i think it happened twice.

They must be talking about this thread on the Ducks board, half of their fanbase is reading this thread

Ducks fans and Ducks organization stop need to measuring their self worth against the Kings
The fans take more glee from a Kings loss than a Ducks win. When the won the cup it wasn't "We won the cup" it was "we won the cup first" it is like it would have meant nothing unless they compare it to the Kings.
The jokes they showed on the jumbotron, were funny at first but too many of them. I don't understand the harping on bandwagon fans. A team that struggles, like the Ducks do, to fill their area( I am not calling them Florida or Az) could use some bandwagon fans. I have been to many Ducks games with empty sections of seats.
Most of the Ducks fans on HF are pretty good and can see the bigger picture. The fans on the Ducks home page talk about the Kings more than the Ducks. Yeah, I get we are talking about them today, but by Saturday this thread will be on page 2 and the Ducks will be just another team (almost)
As far as classless goes, there are idiots everywhere. People who look for trouble usually find it. Alcohol increases the stupidity in some people.
