Man, this is funny to see. I was ripped apart for think that the Sharks MIGHT claim him off waivers. And now there's a chance someone is willing to trade for him?????? Once again boys and girls, never be surprised by anything these GM's do!!!!!

It may depend on retention, which the sharks wouldnt have got with a waiver claim. :dunno:

Does LA have anything that might package for Pav + Trouba and possibly more? How is that Forbort kid? How are the prospects? Any need of winger prospects?

Muzzin I suppose, but he's far from available. Forbort has fizzled a bit, but after developing the guy for years it would be nice to try a season with him to see if he can show more. We're thin on prospects so yeah nah. Yup, we need everything prospects and cap space.

lol well atleast Winnipeg has both space and a ton of prospects. I'm sure a deal would be worked out.

They brought in Zatkoff for one reason the expansion draft.
They had to have a goalie signed after next year to leave exposed.
And they couldn't send him to Ontario like they did Budaj for risk of losing him and then they wouldn't have a goalie they could expose at the draft.

Why wouldn't they just expose Jack Campbell? Or is there still some thought he might recover?

This is the goalie you've been looking for l.a.
You will not trade anything less than a second rounder for him
Move along now, nothing to see here

Trouba would be great, but isnt he supposedly after 6mill+

Maybe, but it's unlikely that he will get it from anywhere. You have to find recent comparables to build your case, usually. Trouba is a guy who will likely be signing a big contract in the next few years though. Could probably get him for like 4.5x4 or something too. Who knows.

For 4.5 per he'd be interesting, how happy would he be sitting behind doughty, is he after being top dog? Still too risky in my opinion if we're moving our top LD locked in at 4mill, with the "sweetener" being Pavelec.

Good news. Inquire about that Trouba guy while you're on the phone Dean.

Should stay away from Bernier. Ducks are having too much fun trying to figure out how to calculate their cap. Seriously, someone tell their GM there are sites like NHLnumbers, Generalfanager, and capfriendly out there. They could use some help. Anyways Ducks would have to eat half his salary, which probably wouldn't work for them, and the Kings wouldn't give up a whole lot. Maybe a 5th?

Don't be surprised if the two teams go full blockbuster and you end up getting him, thanks to your goalie issue.

Don't overly care about any return on Pavs b/c it will suck anyways. But what's the talk about Trouba to know kings? What does the kings have to offer that would be interesting?

Taking Pavs gets you no discount on Trouba, just a heads up

Well it seems Ike he doesn't want to play in winnipeg from the sounds of it. His problem here was that he was splitting minutes with buff and myers so I think 2nd pairing RD would make him happy.

Totally agree here Bernier would be better in the long term if JQ is out long term then adding Pavelec. Would think that Lombardi could do better then adding Pav who's trending down.

And JB is not trending downward. His game became a tire fire in Toronto. Plus no need to help the Ducks out of their cap troubles. Let them keep a 4.5 million dollar back up.

Yeah in what world could LA offer Trouba around $5.5 million per long term, Unless Cheveldayoff wants to take Brown back in return and that's not happening. They don't have the cap to sign Trouba to a big contract this year.

Muzzin>Trouba. And that's without taking contract in mind he is far better with the contract he is on. That would be idiotic move.

I'd send Martinez for Trouba, but no way do I send Muzzin. Muzzin would be a #1 defenseman on a few teams.

Lombardi eared that termination with his superior knowledge of the CBA.

If the Kings were making a move for Trouba it would have to be around Muzzin, for value and cap reasons.

Moving Muzzin to fix the second pair makes sense, because Doughty doesn't need Muzzin on the first pair to be awesome.

It's a stretch because the Jets have been looking for someone similar age to Trouba and Trouba may have a target area in mind that doesn't include the Kings.

On a side note... the cap actually works out picking up Pav @ 50% and Trouba signing around 6, for Muzzin, even when Gaborik & Quick come back. Cap space can be opened up next year for contracts by moving guys like King/Lewis/Greene.

I agree. No way I move Muzzin and his deadly contract for Trouba. I would be all over moving Martinez for him even if we bite the bullet and to Pavs back in the deal.

Martinez and Clifford

For

Trouba and Pavs

Before Jets fans crap Marty is a deadly left handed compliment to their big lefties and it frees up money for other trades. He is on a long term good contract. Cliffy adds some of the punch Ladd used to bring.

Fellow Kings fans, it adds that second pairing right shot we need as well as a stop gap for Quick. I would like Lombardi to to a mini rebuild or retool building from the goal line out.

Bernier would make a lot of sense for LA and it would help ANA with the cap

a win/win i would think

but i dunno how much these two clubs would want to help each other out
