I think you guys are missing the point. It's not Sutter didn't do this, didn't do that on the ice. It's that sometimes players need a new voice despite the past success.

I've been on the new coach train practically all season, but it's terribly poor form to say nothing during the 5 game winning streak then bring it up just because we're losing this game.

If there was more to squeeze from this roster, in talent or cap space, it might be worth a shot. He'll be back to at least start next season, and will more likely than not finish it. Until there's any indication that Sutter might be fired, I'm not even sure why anyone would think about it.

Let's call a spade a spade. This team is in a transition year, Budaj has been great and if he doesn't win the Masterson it's a travesty, but this team isn't making the playoffs. And if for some magical reason they do, great experience for the kids, but for the love of all thing holy do not mortgage the limited future this team has Lombardi. Bring on the deadline I say!

If things keep up, no goals in 120 minutes of regulation play to start this road trip.

If they don't get to the net, they don't score, because they don't get 2nd chances, or screens, or anything else. Stop them from getting to the middle, and they're not going to score more than maybe a goal. 2 if you're pushing it. If they make poor defensive reads like they did today, it gets even easier to stop them from getting to the middle in the offensive zone.

There's a fundamental way they play, and Sutter wants them playing that way all the time, whether up, down, or tied. When the Kings are engaged mentally, emotionally, and physically, it works great. When they're not, it's ugly.
