When is the season ticket renewal deadline?
Didn't see a response to this, may have missed it, but I'll take the opportunity to respond and then move on to frustrations.
Season ticket renewal deadline was March 10th.
I am responsible for a group and jumped on it pretty early to see if they'd all renew. We lost one guy, gained another and guys stepped up so I don't have to take 15 games still (down to 10). So I responded pretty early for renewal and rather substantially regret it. The plus side is it's just one year, with the contracts now gone. So I'm in for one more season.
For what it's worth you have to inform TNSE between February 1 and March 1 that you are NOT renewing. I know this because I specifically went looking to see if I could back out of my seasons after the Sharks loss at home (my 4th loss in a row in attendance). So I missed the window for escaping renewal and as such I'm still a STH.
After next year, regardless of the outcome I will be dropping my tickets. It's too much of a pain in the ass now. My job requires a lot more travel than it used to and you cannot sell tickets for what you pay as a STH. Worse, my section (103) is a season the Jets retain seats in for promotional things - parents of players, groups of singers, etc. to attend the game. So there's a glut of tickets in my section for cheap as TNSE undercuts what I can charge to move tickets (yes, I have pointed this out to them repeatedly and will do so again in the year end survey).
It is very, very easy to get tickets to ALL games, including Montreal and Toronto (I think there were more Bruins jerseys at the Friday night game than I've ever seen Leafs jerseys, which is mind bogglingly bad). I will still buy a five pack of games that includes no pre-season games, possibly two packs, so I'll still be supporting the team. But they do so much to piss off full season ticket holders at this point (cheap tickets + a beer on Tuesdays) that there really is no merit, especially with the only real benefit being access to playoff tickets. They did at least deliver on the STH gift this year - a small cooler bag; last year we were supposed to receive something but it never happened - that may or may not be more insulting than the cheap as shit luggage tag from years prior. But don't get me wrong, I'm not really after "stuff". I'd like to not be paying more than casual fans sitting beside me for one thing.
More importantly than anything else I want to feel like the millionaires on the ice that make as much in a game or two as I do in a year are actually giving a shit, making an effort and giving a damn. That seems to be far too much to expect out of this group for all but about four months of this season (Oct-Jan), otherwise since Buff left there have been problems with attitude. I know others have said they would rather see a poor team trying than these talented guys effing the dog on the ice. I feel the same. Really, I would. I understand entirely that is not the case for most people, they want big names, success. But the big names with bad attitudes and marginal success is less appealing to me.
There is a ton of talent on the Jets roster. I'm ok with Connor struggling, but it would be nice to see him making effort in other parts of the game. PLD likely has an injury he's recovering from. We know Ehlers did/does. Wheeler frustrates me, but only because of where the coaches insist on putting him. His effort in general is always there, but he's a liability now and needs to play down the lineup. Scheifele? If I could put him on a rocket and shoot his sorry ass into space I'd do it in a heartbeat and I thought he was going to be a lifelong Jets, on the level of Hawerchuk, but he's basically toxic at this point, ignoring his play from Oct-Jan. He was my favorite Jet for quite some time and I have an auto'd jersey of his. It pisses me off to see it right now.
I don't know what the problem with the Jets locker room is but it has to be addressed or my money walks away. Thought it was the coach, apologies to Maurice, apparently not. Give me GST back. They were awful but they left their hearts on the ice each game.
Since it's the post-GDT thread I thought they tried, for one period. Again. Go figure, you can't win many games with 20 minutes of effort. Some guys played pretty well (Josh, PLD), some guys tried hard (Ehlers, Lowry) and some did stupid things. Pretty standard and expected play since the all-star break.
Oh and could we please fix the powerkill? My goodness but it's embarrassing. Yes, we potted one after four minutes. Woo-woo.
