Kings are up against the cap so it can’t be Clague plus Toffoli. It would have to be more since that clears up just over 5 million and Nylander wants 7-8.

This is why Blake moved Pearson - to save 3.75 and put that towards a better player that will be making 7+ million...and the plan (I surmise) is also to move one
of Muzzin / Martinez, to clear another apx. 4 millon and bring in Brickley or finally play Ladue. That's where the 7.75 million comes from.

Minor ECHL trade, but good move by Blake. Falkovsky way down on the depth chart playing in the ECHL with another year left on his contract. Jenys is an RFA after this season and likely won't be qualified. Opens up a contract slot a year earlier. Gives Kings flexibility to sign their own prospects and other CHL/NCAA free agents and gets them out from under a bust a year earlier.

Yep Falkovsky a project and a super-redundant one at that. Decent move.

Though getting the notification without names attached scared the crap out of me

muzz, martinez, fanta, toffoli, lewis, thompson, forbort should all be gone by the deadline. There are others I would like to go but no one would take those contracts. Maybe we can do some quantity for quality trades.

When was the last time we were this bad? Early 2000s? 94-96?

Blake should go full tank mode. Trade Kovy (he will prob asked to get moved anyway). Trade any UFA players (Thompson, Hagelin and Fattenberg).

Try to land a good player at the draft and hope for the best.

Fair enough. Don't really want to trade them but these issues do seem hard to fix within a decent enough span to make keeping them worth it. And I kinda want to see how much they'd get

That has no bearing on it. They have to want to be traded. Kopitar has a NMC through next year, and then he can pick 7 teams. Doughty is the same up until 2023, when it turns into the NTC. Until they want out, there's no reason to wonder how much they could get for them.

4-7-1 at home for the year. 3-7-1, and 1-3-1 at home, against the West. 28GF, and 43GA at home. They've given up a legit 7 goals in 2 of 12 home games. In 7 of the 12 they've scored 2 or fewer goals.

15 goals in the 8 games under Desjardins. 11 goals in the 7 games after the little burst of energy against the Ducks. That's 1.88 or 1.57 goals per game.

When either of those two demand a trade.

This.

Next year we should have Vilardi, Clague, Jupari and a top 3 pick (hopefully) pushing for lineup spots. If deals are done for prospects about to break in this team could get a great youthful push as early as next year. Right now this is a re-tool not rebuild. If those guys are moved everyone should be moved.
