Kings not retooling with just propects.Their going to be adding FA as well within two years.I believe Futa when he said their expectations is to be back in the playoffs in two years.
I'll believe free agents worth a damn sign in L.A. when I see it. Mitchell was the best FA signing in Kings history, and he was a major question mark coming off severe concussion issues

I think Blake wins at this deadline if he makes 2 more moves, which granted, need teams willing,

Kovy with 25% retain to NYI for a 2nd and Ho Sang

Carter to ??? for a pick, a prospect, and a good young 5th/6th dman or bottom six tweener....no idea who has that, I wish I could see NSH, I don't, WPG I doubt it....not much left there

Winnipeg has Sami Niku on the backend, but I’m not sure they will move him. Very good defensive prospect who’s spent some time with the Jets this season.

They also have Logan Stanley and Luke Green who are in Manitoba.

I liked Stanley last season when he was with Kitchener (OHL).

Anyone think Simmonds or the Kings have any interest in reconnecting this summer?

I would think if the Kings can deal Kovy; they could bring in an older forward like Panarin or Simmonds and then go with a youthful rest of the line up.

Yeah, depending on the $. Reunite the bromance

As i pointed out before the "retire" story is just that a story made up by reporters with no actually quotes from Jeff Carter.

Not likely. It's probably from the agent because the player doesn't want to leave LA. Now there could be debate on whether Carter would follow through on those threats, but it's not as if multiple reporters are just making it up.

If Carter is indeed traded don't be surprise if almost the entire return is conditional.

Not trading Carter after the 2017 season is quickly moving up the list of biggest Kings mistakes in the last 5 years. It has no chance of catching #1, but it is going to be tough to look back and see what the Kings likely could have gotten for a player who has very little trade value right now (or ever again)

1. Lucic trade
2. Not trading Carter
3. Richards non-buyout
4. Phaneuf trade
5. Stevens hire

I read the article no direct quotes from anyone. It was a 2 plus 2 equals 100 type of jump to conclusions. Sad how its become fact based on calls without quotes from carter to back it. Its all based on opinion not on facts.

If the pundits are right about a deal between Montreal and LA...I hope it would be revolving around Martinez (they need a LHD). Then you can move Carter out to say a team like Nashville (which has been looking into him). And lastly you can move Quick (most likely at the draft) to a team like Columbus or Florida (if they miss out on Bob).

This would be Lucic 2.0. A guy on the wrong side of 30 looking for at least 6x6 if not more. Hard pass!
