Kid Line is Back Per Vince Mercogliano

Am I worried? Yes, but I always am so that's no different. The team is a slow starter though. People hated Z at the beginning of the last 2 years and look where that ended up. Laf started like shit both years and finished strong. Maybe we are just a slow starting team. I can name a few Cup teams that were like that, one of them beat us to win it.

I'm not saying this is a cup team, but aside from goal, we are much better than the last 2 years.

I'm fine with the lines. Kid line is good. Kakko is good for them. Vesey has played 3 good games in a row. I would like to trade Krav and Carp for another Trocheck-lite clone on the RW to put on that line. Panarin needs guys dragging him into the fight.

Slow start team == badly coached team . No structure or system to fall back on while getting up to speed.

I'm pretty sure given that Kreider got taken off his line that at this point if the kids are playing better they will get more ice. It wont translate to high minutes because they wont get pp1 and pk like Kreider and Zib but their 5 on 5 should match.

That's not necessarily true. Our record is comparable to multiple cup winning teams in the last 10 years. The kings in 12, the hawks in 15, the caps, the blues, lightning in 20 and the Avs last year. Were they poorly coached?

I'd love to be terribly coached all the way to the parade.
 
Almost certain the kid line will be rolled evenly with the others and that Kakko will be moved up for occasional double shifts. These are the right lines for now.

Im almost certain that your full of shit lol. Those lines will not be rolled evenly. The 4th line will get tons of minutes while the 3rd line will not see the ice in the 3rd. Plus we are back to putting player who dont belong in the top 6 in the top 6.. IE Kravy and vesey..

I like Gallant i do but he always reverts back to his old ways and this team isnt going to get over the hump in the playoffs with him. He has a terrible system defensively and lets his vets do whatever they want offensively. Its not a good combo.

Im deeply disappointed with the rangers and this coaching staff

I will be with you 100% if the kid line doesn't get 12-15 minutes next game. I believe theyre going to get 12-15 though.
I think considering that Kakko's been the best player almost all season, you don't move him down to give him less minutes, when he's been playing the best.
Gallant has made it clear he's happy with the kids. This doesn't seem like a demotion.
 
Great news they're back together. Bad news they're the 3rd line. They should be the 2nd line. But, give credit where it's due, if Gallant scratches Carpenter and Reaves, these lines are the best we can hope for for now.

Get a Vatrano type guy to put in Vesey's spot on Kreids-Zib RW.

Now, put Miller with Fox, Jones with Trouba, and Lindgren (when he comes back) with Schneider.

Its not a demotion per say but we all know Gallant by now and we know how he deploys his lines especially late in games. The top 2 get most of the minutes with the 4th line sprinkled in. 3rd line is glued to the bench. Its his MO

They are only the third line because a bunch of beat writers looked out on the ice and decided to list them third. They are the Ratelle line.
 
I hate the name “the kid line”. I find it patronizing that these guys are in their 3-5 year and it’s still called the that.

It feels like mental gymnastics for the fact that these guys are still playing like kids. Plenty of younger players are wearing letters or leading their teams already at that age. I can probably name 15 teams like that.

"we all know how he deploys his lines" except that in vegas he rolled 3 lines late in games.
Hes voiced his approval for kakko's game fairly heavily recently, and opening the season the kids were on late in games if he was pressing.

I think hes showing a serious amount of trust that the kids will figure it out and spark the team. And you dont do that if theyre not getting ice time.
