If he didn't want why would he interview?I know it's 1 of 32 jobs but wonder if karmanos would even want to go back to Pitt?
Yeah I'm not that concerned about anyone from our front office leaving.
Just bring back Regier to sit and watch the years pass by without addressing any issues, it'll be like old times. Maybe some rocking chairs and lemonade for those 'sit on your hand summers' where you just let the scouts do the draft work and you just bring back the same gang that disappointed you the last year hoping it'll be different this time.
Yeah no one knew they were a top 4 D and an NHL quality goalie away from breaking the longest playoff drought in the history of the sport. When has this regime done that? Oh they haven’t, cool
How many of the people who claimed we needed a D and G also thought the team was going to be a bottom 5 team when they finished the offseason signingsYeah no one knew they were a top 4 D and an NHL quality goalie away from breaking the longest playoff drought in the history of the sport.
Except all the people who knew that, said that, and watched as the man did f***ing nothing
Not me. I thought we were an 85ish point team, 4th in the Atlantic and just outside the playoffs without a top 4d and a G.How many of the people who claimed we needed a D and G also thought the team was going to be a bottom 5 team when they finished the offseason signings
Yes it was. He also said we were behind Sens/Wings by 2yrs and 3/4yrs away. Not me. I thought we were an 85ish point team, 4th in the Atlantic and just outside the playoffs without a top 4d and a G.
Was it really Ace's position that we were a bottom 5 team without those moves?
are you f***ing kidding me?Yes it was. He also said we were behind Sens/Wings by 2yrs and 3/4yrs away.
Do you have receipts?Yes it was. He also said we were behind Sens/Wings by 2yrs and 3/4yrs away.
That's how I remember it.are you f***ing kidding me?
I WAS THE ONE YELLING ABOUT HOW PEOPLE SAYING WE WERE A YEAR BEHIND THOSE TEAMS AFTER FINISHING AHEAD OF THEM WAS BULLSHIT
I WAS THE ONE YELLING THAT THE ONLY THING KEEPING US FROM THE PLAYOFFS WAS ADAMS INACTION IN GOAL AND DEFENSE
Youve got to be f***ing kidding me
I said we wouldnt make it because Adams did nothing. He did and we didn’t.
I said that punting on goal (AGAIN), which people defended because we were a year behind Detroit and Ottawa was a f***ing joke. Because it was. And we weren’t.
I get that some people here have taken indefensible positions of accepting failure and rationalizing this organizations mistakes…but to twist it around on someone who called it exactly f***ing as it happened…bullshit.
BULLSHIT
From the Free Agency thread last summer…. (The two bolded parts in particular)Do you have receipts?
That's how I remember it.
I will bet on teams prospects developing better when they’re surrounded by better players and a team is pushing for improvement instead of hoping for it every time. Ottawa and Detroit have young players too. And they went out and insulated and complimented them. Adams says our improvement will come from young players finding their next level. I will bet on Ottawa and Detroit’s players finding it first. This team is going to finish at the bottom. And then all the vibes and all the room and all the buy in will be tested and they’ll have wasted a year where they could add NHL talent with their comical amount of assets and money. But Adams seems to be under the impression that the way to develop players is to not make them compete for jobs and surround them with other young players. Development is not a straight line. There will be ups and downs and steps back for long stretches. And without the roster improvements to offset it…we’re going to be in trouble. And the kids are going to be in trouble too.
and I would be more understanding of it if they used their giant amount of cap space to buy assets from teams needing to move money out. Because at least that’s something positive happening while you are sitting in neutral for a year. At least there would be some long term positive in it. But we can’t do that either. Because we can’t do anything but nothing. That’s the plan this year. Nothing. Kids earned some hope last year? Too bad…you get nothing.
Whats going to happen kicking every can down the road is a step back…we are going to be farther away. We are going to be sitting here in one year at the start of free agency really excited about that top draft pick and thinking about how far away we are from being competitive for a playoff spot. And that will be year 4 of this plan.
This plan is missing hugely important parts. Using assets to improve the roster, and spending money to acquire those assets. You can’t pick neither as a path. They’ve chosen neither.

Thats the same thread he said….
*We’re 2 years behind Det/Ott
*We’re about 3 to 4 years away
*We’re going to fall flat on our face this season
He was going off in as the Wings/Sens made moves at the beginning of free agency.

Reacting to the Wings/Sens movesEveryone is looking at it backwards. They’re looking at another winger because they can’t find a goalie and top 4 rhd.
Theyre thinking about adding an asset to take a contract on in another year where they won’t be competing for a playoff spot
Do I have to accept that I’m two years behind two teams I outplayed down the stretch last year when I already have a deeper and better prospect pool than both?
this is a thing I have to take as fact?
That goal differential is what happens when you spend two months getting run out of buildings because your 4th and 5th goalies cant keep less than 5 pucks out of your net.
If we weren’t two years behind them before this off-season…this off-season has put us there
That’s a hopeful 1/2 years.
With the plan at goal I’d say a conservative 3/4
You know what development is? It’s pushing forward and playing more meaningful games and winning more. Keeping your foot on the brake with all these assets and all this cap space so teams can blow by you is not development. It’s stagnation.
I think we need another move to add cap so we can make moves at the deadline. If this season ends up with us in second last place in the division guys like Girgensons, Okposo and Hinostroza should be moved. God knows they won’t be because we hate getting assets at the deadline or by utilizing cap space…but they should be. Olofsson I think is a goner as soon as this deadline and as late as next one. But I hope to be competitive next year after predictably falling on our face this year. I mean I guess I hope that will lead to the least bit of desire to try and improve the roster but maybe this is one of those rebuilds that we never do that and wonder why it didn’t work. Too early to tell. but getting later.
Some more quotes I looked up because you’re accusing me of lying. Its just a small sample of the many posts you made all summer with the same theme.
In response to the JVR rumors.

Oof. Receipts.
It's alright. I was aghast at the Josh Allen pick in 2018.
Then I gave up even attempting to understand NFL drafting. I'm sticking to hockey.
Glad I could set you up so you could knock it out. Some more quotes I only looked up because you’re accusing me of lying. It’s just a small sample of the many posts you made all summer with the same theme.

How many would've signed Campbell to a long term deal? How many of the people who claimed we needed a D and G also thought the team was going to be a bottom 5 team when they finished the offseason signings
That's what kills me when posters are so aggressive and arrogant. We've all had terrible takes. Humble yourselves!STOP! For some reasons those takes annoy me just as much as they did a year ago. Let me relax on this day of our Lord (Levi)!
I have been wrong as much as anyone! We’re all wrong constantly haha. But we gotta own them
I don't really trust Dubas. I would then call Tulsky or promote Ventura.I would have zero issues bringing in Dubas as a president of hockey ops or as GM and promoting Adams up the ladder and letting Dubas be the GM. Someone who is competent at the day to day and in touch with the teams needs and managing the cap. The issue is the leafs is their best players aren't their best players in the playoffs, not that Dubas did a bad job adding. His biggest sin is that Tavares contract and that was signed with the assumption of continuous cap growth. It's the right kind of focused aggression we could use to be honest.
The Pegulas and Adams aren't going to do that as Dubas will want carte blanche to do what he wants, but it would be a smart move, especially if Karmanos leaves.
