I'd start looking at the "daunted" 2nd largest analytics department in the league as well.
Lets see how the off season goes. I don't think he makes it through another season if he doesn't address the issues but maybe that will light a fire under his butt.

He was so damn happy and excited after the trade deadline. I know Rochester is in the playoff hunt but call up a couple of the forwards for crying out loud. Except for Asplund the entire crew has gotten a free pass all season. Learning experience? Yeah, they've learned that it doesn't matter whether they show up or not, their spots are safe.

Is it the analytics department? I'm not sure how much influence they have on the pro side. This wasn't a very analytics forward deadline. Olofsson still being on the team in particular gives me some concern here. Identifying VO as a player who is adding virtually no value to the team, and consequently pounding the table about jettisoning him, is a big part of what an analytics team should do. Yet here we are.

So step back from trying to be competitive in an arena that they are relatively new to because... ?

Carolina does it best and they've been doing it for years. And they constantly keep building. Buffalo isn't there yet - they haven't even gotten to icing a complete lineup.

Which is a problem.

One that, if not addressed this off-season…needs to come with repercussions

Have to wonder if Donny's coaching style will start to come into question.

He hasn't cleaned up the defensive play all season and it is a glaring black hole back there.

I like Granato but why does it take 82 games to try and get this team to play defense?

If you know your goalie is subpar then at least create a system to hide his weaknesses. It looks like the opposite out there.

Idk Stillman and Greenway are the prototypes we were hoping for. Physical defensive defender and a big power forward, with all of the big assets still in our back pocket.

The team gave up (again!). Tough to blame Adams for that imo. I understand pushing no fault offense but the boys have to at least tell their elbows from their assholes in the D zone.

KA has put a great core together and they have developed fast....He's done a great job too with contracts and managing the cap...Looking forward to him improving the roster this offseason so we can contend next year...The future looks bright.

Adam’s said multiple times he wasnt going to compromise the rebuild in any way shape or form and was staying the course .

The whole goal for this season was for the players to buy into the system , let the kids play and develop a culture considering we have a lot of rookies this season . At the deadline he said he would only make a trade if he didn’t compromise the rebuild which he did as Greenway didn’t cost an astronomical fee .

This off-season and at the draft that is when Adam’s is officially on the clock and when his true tenure begins as he needs to make win now trades and start including draft picks from 2024 and on wards .

These last 12 years have been horrible and excruciating, but for the first time in 12 years I finally believe we have a direction and a proper vision after Adam’s has had 4 drafts to turn this team around , I like where we are heading and won’t be mad if we miss the playoffs this year

Next year tho is a different story all together

Will Adams fire Granato and bring in a vet coach that can instill a system that plays both ends of the ice? A coach that requite his defense to actually play defense, and his forwards to actually play in the lower zone?
