Anyone who watched the NTDP see Leonard throw some big hits, or was he just physical? Threw hits/was able to protect the puck ?
 
Will Smith and Ryan Leonard brings us 2 different things and both will help one of our need.

Ryan Leonard would be the perfect fit with Suzuki-Caufield. He's exactly the type of player they need.

But Will Smith will help us having 2 dynamic lines

I find it hard to believe that Columbus would choose Smith over Carlsson, but it sounds like that's not impossible either.

And, Leonard sounds like he's moving up boards, San Jose could take him at #4 (all rumours say Chicago has Leonard at #4, and would have taken him if they fell there).

Boom! Carlsson lands with Montreal.

Yup. And he specifically provided the example of if they feel a left shot D and a right shot D are of equal talent, they will most probably go with the right shot D.

There are always surprises. Always. I could see that happening for sure.

I think this year, Columbus might be more predictable who they take (they did say they'd go with a center). So you think that means either Carlsson or Smith. But usually, Columbus does have a knack to be unpredictable.

the More Hughes keeps saying they need to their homework on Russian players, the more I believe he ain't drafting Michkov.
Maybe he''s a great poker player, but I'd be incredibly worried if they needed
to do even more due diligence on this kid. Maybe they are, maybe they're waiting to see if Ukraine reclaims Crimea. Who knows?
doesn't sound to me like Habs are drafting him.

Looks like it's Smith or Leonard at #5 unless someone else who isn't Russian drops from the top 4.

Also, looks like Habs haven't seen Michkov play much this season.

Kent knows what the media are talking about. He talked to Anderson and Eddy last Jan/Feb because the media was rumoring them getting traded soon. Which means he knows the noise around Carter Hart and he just killed any question from coming on the subject.

If I needed to bet on the reason he said that, I would 100 % put my money on that explanation.

But I don't think media would have talk about Carter Hart with all the questions they had today

Possible.

Just because Michkov has a 3 year contract doesn't mean he'll stay in Russia for 3 years.

However, I think given Columbus' move to get Provorov and that's why I imagine they go with Carlsson, who probably shouldn't play this year, but will be likely good for next season allowing them to move that much closer to be competitive

Will Smith is more talented. Not saying Leonard isn't but there is a gap.
