You get it’s almost meaningless right at 900k cap hit. Please tell me you do.
It's meaningless in the terms of numbers. Where it is not meaningless is that we've seen this story multiple times before. We can see the future conversations of "oh, he's just here for veteran mcveteranness he won't play. York will play over him" when we know that isn't going to be the case whatsoever. You get it’s almost meaningless right at 900k cap hit. Please tell me you do.
When is okay for Cam York to play for the Flyers?
Meanwhile the guy Fletcher passed up for him was having a big impact in the Stanley Cup Finals already.
JUST f***ING PLAY CAM YORK.
If he stumbles, play ZAMULA.
If he stumbles too, then you see what is out there.
Why did they even re-sign Morin? To be the 9th dman? They were in perfectly fine shape without having to bring in a veteran road block for Hayes to pal around with.
900k less to use on a backup; an actual need. How ideal.

Maybe Biz and Whit will lace em up for us also. The Kevin Hayes entourage

I'm not a big fan of Yandle but he's an upgrade over their last 3rd pairing/PP specialist at they got him at a fraction of the cost. As you said they obviously felt they desperately needed to change the culture of the team.900k? Why the hell not?
He’s friends with the team. This is another move to reform the locker room. It must have been a disaster.

Veteran McVeteranness over everything.
Because we it isn’t 900k , it’s the diff between 900 k and whichever replacement.
Delaying York (and Zamulas) ascension to NHL regular is not meaningless. It wasnt meaningless when they did it Frost, Sanheim, and others before them. It just means in 22-23, when he'll have even less games under his belt than he should. We've been down this road so many times. At one point we had Nick Schultz playing over prospects that were NHL ready. It never ends.
Problem is Yandle should be fighting with Braun, but just won’t happen with AV
That’s a fair thing to want, but Keith Yandle for 900k shouldn’t be a reason those players don’t get their shot. If he stinks bury him. When is okay for Cam York to play for the Flyers?

That's not how the salary cap works
They were never going start the season both York and Zamula on the team at the same time. They needed another vet as the 7th. I still think it is York's job to lose. We'll be fine.
I don't really think there's anyone necessarily in here complaining about the $900k itself. The NTC just seems semi ridiculous for a guy making that kind of money and just seems weird so people mock it.100% agree. It’s the York factor that is awful, people crying over 900k and the NTC have no ground imo.
