I think Fletcher, after Clarke makes a blood sacrifice to an ancient Mesopotamian god to ensure Chuck remains as GM, should just re-sign Yandle next season. For appearances. He has to continue the ruse that Yandle isn't just playing because of his record. No going back now.

Yandle is the ultimate tank commander if we want a top 2 pick next season. May have to outbid the Yotes for his services

Elliotte Friedman just said on 32 thoughts podcast that Yandle came here because the Flyers told him ‘we’re going to get you there’ regarding the iron man streak and that he had a lot of options. You may recall that both said to assembled press that it was not a factor and Yandle claimed he was never promised anything.

Yeah this is the thing I believe more. Fire Fletcher.

This doesn't matter somehow.

I still dont understand that play. Pass in the worst direction, interferes with partner, fumbles and loses puck in his own zone in a span of seconds. There is no limit on TOI / salary cap hit in which this would be acceptable. Zero. A kid would get shot to the ECHL or deeper. Veteran is told to never get benched.

If Yandle had told the coaches it was time and they could take him out of the lineup in November when he really started sucking shit, then he would deserve an enormous amount of respect for putting the team first. But all he cares about is himself and his stupid streak.

Probably in the CHL. The coaches there are awful.

Came here to read about Flyers' fans take on Yandle's steak. I'm surprised it hasn't been brought to the main board yet. Everyone could pile on him the way they did with Marleau.

Fun fact, there are a couple people here who believe that promising him the streak is fine management and they'd like to give Fletcher the opportunity to make decisions like this for years to come.

Yandle should play in every game for the rest of this season. He should play >20 minutes, PP, PK. He should play if his leg is broken in 11 places. There is no reason to not play him now.

What would have infuriated me when I cared about this team winning is that Yandle is a huge contributor to why it doesn't matter now. That is not 20/20 hindsight. It is bile-inducing irony that he helped drag the team down to his level of sub-mediocrity to the point where he can happily appear in games, play like dreck, and many will even be pleased because the best direction to go is now down.

That's pretty disturbing if true.

This streak is hilarious considering two seasons' worth of it were solely due to the streak itself, and it's just going to be broken by Kessel in less than a year anyway hahahahahahah.
