How about being involved in any deal of substance? Nah, too hard for Stan.
Prices are to high this far from the deadline. Imagine paying a 1st+ for Granlund and Ceci. Plus when we get closer to the deadline there will be more sellers and more player options.

We don’t I guess, we’ll just let everyone else get better and continue to celebrate mediocrity as we’ve done since the 80s ended. It’s the Oilers way.
Mediocrity? We’re 3rd in the league and have been one of the most successful playoff teams in the last 4 years (minus winning the Cup). Mediocrity is whatever the Flames have been doing every year to finish between 7th and 10th.

You may be right. But this place would have gone crazy if all they added was cap space.
i agree with that too, but it looks like they picked the wrong targets early on in UFA. Debrusk at 5.5 for 7 years would of been a way better add than 33 and 53. He's a legit top winger, he's physical, he's even played well in the playoffs, and he has a connection to the city. That's just one guy.

I forgot that they award the Stanley Cup on February 1st.
for sure. I'm gonna wait and see what Bowman does at the trade deadline. You can't blame Bowman for...

Holloway and Borberg
J. Skinner, and not being a fit for Knob/29/97
Arvidsson signing
Josh Brown
Henrique (and I like Rico, but he needs to produce more offence, better wingers would help)

Bowman came is after the start of free agency, he made the Pod deal, the Emberson deal. He claimed Kap and Regula (too soon to tell), signed Klingberg (also, too soon to tell). So far, I like what Stan has done. I hope he is able to step up and make some moves that help this team get ready for a Cup run, we will see.

Yup. Same thing the Canucks have been doing ever since they entered the league. But of course their GM is so “smart” because he’s being active (said in my best Molly Shannon SNL voice). Lol.

but, a combination of his poor defensive play/giveways/lack of trust from his coach and from the team's top 2 Cs (29 and 97) has prevented him from a regular spot in the line up, a team worst minus 7 rating, and not even a sniff of the top 6 on either 29's or 97's wing. That's more of a concern than his goal scoring efficiency.
His defensive game has improved quite a bit from the start of the year and is back checking well. +/- is just a bad stat I tend to ignore it. What he is showing is that if given the puck he can bury it.

To put this in perspective, Debrusk has 8 5 vs 5 goals and 18 5 vs 5 points. Skinner has 8 5 vs 5 goals and 15 points. But Skinner has 13 primary points while Debrusk has 11. Debrusk was not getting any significant pp time in Edmonton. Frankly I am not a huge fan of that Debrusk contract.

you can argue against plus/minus all you want, and that his defensive game has improved, and both are somewhat correct. But, what you can't argue against is that Knob still hasn't shown much, of any, trust in him. It's also quite clear that neither 29 or 97 have asked for 53 on their line, because if they had, he would of gotten shot with one of them. The mistake on 53 came on July 1, when none of the Oilers management group in charge of the signings (Jeff Jackson) seems to ran it by the coach and it's team leaders if they thought if Jeff Skinner, and the type of player he is (over 1000 games played in the NHL, plenty of game tape), was the right fit for this team.

Debrusk has veen very mid
way more effective than Arvidsson playing with a guy who has been playing at an MVP level. and a guy who has ZERO trust of his coach and the team's top 2 centres.

He'll lead us to victory through will and determination. In all honesty, he's the league's unluckiest forward. You'd think a puck would bounce in off his ass or something.
Something something Patrick Russell

They're too privileged to even know what a bad team is. Crying when they got one of the best goalies, a norris D and a couple forwards capable of 100 points. Boo hoo.
Everyone has declined this year and it’s pretty funny to see their reactions.

Looking at the line up, sincerely, with Kane back, you add another impact forward the lines could look extremely deep

Kane - McDavid - Hyman
Trade - Draisaitl - Arvidsson
Podkolzin - Nuge - Brown
Kapanen/Janmark - Henrique - Perry
Philp

OT but the Rangers board GDT is hilarious today.

Just post after post ripping the team lmao.

Got thumped by the lowly Bruins

Pretty dumb of Vancouver to trade that first. No guarantee the Rangers pull out of their nose dive. Could be a unconditional first next year. Not sure why they couldn’t of waited a bit.
