I went through several tweets re: Yandle after the game and I just dont understand how this reasoning ("cheaper") is actually, in all seriousness, used.
Look at that play. He takes the pass in the worst lane, he interferes with his own pairing partner, he fumbles on the puck in his own zone.

This has nothing to do with being cheap. This is me getting on a plane, having my legs cut off there, the plane falling down from 11 km straight to the water and me drowning afterwards. But it is okay because the ticket only cost me $5. Thats not how this works. I know you know it. I am just pissed seeing this play 10 hours later again.

The inevitable defense brigade will also later show up with "He only played 13:28 TOI". Really? Is that a good enough defense? How would anyone want this trifecta of bullshit happen in say 5 minutes TOI, let alone 13? Later in the game there was a similar sequence but instead of firing it off of his teammate, he dropped a puck back to Sanheim who was not expecting it (he was literally right behind him), who then proceeded to rip the puck around the boards to no one since everyone already flew the zone.

Yandle's like that younger player that plays in an alumni game and everybody goes, "hey he could probably still play", but then he actually does play. I imagine the results are pretty similar.

Don’t remember off hand. Atkinson, JVR, and Braun have all played every game and Lindblom has only missed 1 which was the Calgary game here.

I think York was on the shift prior to that PP, but still, it should be Sanheim or even Risto at this point ahead of Yandle. They honestly should be trying Risto there on the off-chance he gets hot or something. He’s supposed to be this point producing defenseman, that’s what Myrtetus and Meltzer told us.
