I see Yandle as an arrogant self centered guy. I don't know how he can look at his teammates when night after night he costs the club goals. It's not a fluke. He doesn't belong here. He ought to have the decency to know this and just leave. He's made enough money. Go away and preserve some dignity.

One thing that concerns me is he has an Ironman steak going that played into decision making with Florida this season, and the players won out over the coach in that scenario so make of that make what you will because we trust the coaches a whole lot less. But this is a heavily sheltered player even though the cost isn’t prohibitive.

The first to call it.

I still think we should all chip in $5 and just pay some junkie to take his leg out the day before. nothing too serious, just enough that he misses the game.

Or even better - just kidnap him for the day. Thats probably better.

Nah, no need to do anything to him directly. Just contaminate his COVID test.

This ironman streak is b.s.
We let him get it and then what? We cant just bench him. He has to finish the season cause Kessel and Marleau are right behind.
So he gets the new record but will finish the season playing.
I cant see him outlasting Kessel in the NHL. Kessel's utility is higher than Yandle's and Kessel is only 24 games behind. It'll be broken again next year when Yandle is not signed anywhere and Kessel is.

Yandle leads the league in consecutive games played, and in goals allowed on the PP this season with 6. With 10 PP GF to his credit, he's only +4 on the PP in 91 minutes.

Player Season Totals - Natural Stat Trick

Dougy is struggling on NJ's PP. 8 GF and 5 GA in 72 minutes.

Except Yandle has his normal xGA/60 on the PP.
Last four seasons, 1.18, 1.20, 1.28, 1.19
GA/60: 1.64, 0.94, 0.73, 3.94

Every mistake Yandle has made this year has ended up in the back of his goal, despite the goalies playing well.
Just one of those freak seasons.

Even if the goalies were bailing him out his mistakes are nonstop and atrocious. You can assume the goalies stop his mistakes at a more expected rate and it doesn't change that he sucks, Fletcher was wrong, you were wrong. We went from having one dman on the shortlist of Worst Defense In League to three, with Yandle leading the way.

There's a random factor between mistakes and goals.

Look at Ghost on the PP
xGA/60: 1.04, 1.06, 0.62, 1.18
GA/60: 1.11, 2.17, 1.07, 0.00

Or Provorov:
xGA/60: 1.32, 1.52, 0.62, 0.58
GA/60: 2.35, 1.14, 0.89, 0.00

Or Hamilton:
xGA/60: 1.24, 0.65, 1.24, 1.65
GA/60: 1.16, 0.40, 1.10, 4.14

You've listed 3 dmen who don't habitually hang their team out to dry on the PP.

I don't think you can even find any equivalent comparison. Every other team is smart enough to stop playing someone like that.
