Of all the loads of shit I have ever read, that f***ing article may be the loadest. Check out this peanut in the turd.

"On Jones's side of things, he has been the team's primary television analyst for the past 23 years, and he did that so well that it earned him extensive national television work, right up to becoming NBC's top hockey analyst. The job involves recognizing the team's strengths and flaws, and Jones has not been shy over the years about pointing out things he thinks the Flyers need to do better."

Well that was certainly different then how they usually do these things. If i here new era one more time i'm gonna barf.

They certainly did there best to try and connect with the part of the fanbase that wants to live in the 70s and dwell on the past.

Magic Happens - funny quote.

Hilferty clearly is much different then Dave Scott in how he discusses the business. He actually seems like a guy that is interested. Dave just seemed like he was along for the ride til he got his golden parachute.

torts as the spiritual leader made me lol

Overall that was a well run press conference. Not being in the practice rink, having a well orchestratred presentation, and was actually onger then a half hour

There is also a very true element here that ASG mentioned months ago, or maybe Charlie.

Comcast feels they need to tread lightly around the alumni. Especially after some pushback, in the early tenure.

The death grip, and influence former players have on this organization is sickening.

Tortorella spoke about it himself today, “why is it assumed that being a former Flyer means you’re diseased.”

Because that’s the reality John.

The new era sure seems like the old era. I mean you've got to move ahead and forget the past, there was a lot of references to the past here. They need to realize this isn't the 70s, and the folks who give a shit about the 70s are gonna be dead soon anyway.

You poor souls subjected yourself to that? Why?

It’s nice to hear that I’ve been right for years.

The BSB era will continue to destroy this team. It has an anaconda like grip, until frankly those men die off.

Also. John Tortorella was the single biggest mistake of a HC hire since my time following this team. The amount of power he already commands is disturbing. The man could throw puppies from rooftops, and remain employed until the day he dies.

He’s the voice for that old guard. For the alumni. He’s their megaphone in this “collaborative” structure.

Also I can see why some people would want no part of this.

It’s a shitshow, and frankly being forced to be saddled with Torts is a problem. They have moved the HC on par with the GM, and team president.

I’ve never seen any organization give such a vote of confidence. Spiritual leader is right.

The Snow the Goalie guys are now even tugging the company line, this is gonna be bad.

ASF I think is being smart trying to give it a chance. He kind of needs to. I did think he pushed a little with his questions today.

Bundy is going to defend his lot.

Russ was obviously holding back in their last pod. He’s a dummy sometimes, but he knows what a joke this is. He can’t say so in front of the “star” of that podcast.
