New era, and hilferty says we need to channel the 1970s teams.

In the end it doesn't matter who's in charge but the decisions they make. At least with Jones and Briere we have two guys who haven't proven yet to be incompetent. This could work or it could be a disaster. We'll find out.

Hey who's that guy in that office over there, let's hire him !
You can't tell me, with a straight face, that they, along with 3 different firms, interviewed a large number of candidates, they wouldn't say how many they interviewed, and thought that a guy, with absolutely 0 experience, was the best for the job.

Exactly, all while the Pens are gearing up to raid the Canes front office.

There was no search if Jones, Eddie O and Wilson were your final 3.

If there was an actual search, 2 of those finalists would of been some real new thinking people.

Admitting they interviewed no other GM candidates,

Its f***ing incredible !!!

Putting the frustration aside.

My overall take is this.

Comcast felt they needed to have more influence. More collaboration. They needed to find someone that would ensure that while being respected by the old guard.

Enter Jones.

This is ownership trying to have more say, a business ops side trying to be part of things more - when hoxkeh ops in the past wouldn’t allow it.

They want hockey ops, and the business side to work together. That’s all this is about. Collaboration said 1000 times.
